Adding a BF MK II to the stable

Hi all.

I'm the proud owner of a BA MK1 and are looking at adding a BF MKII 6 speed auto to the stable and are wondering is there any thing to be aware of before I sign on the dotted line.

I haven't really kept up with all the goings ons of the BF of late and just want to be aware of any short comings like there were with the BA MK1 or have ford finally got every thing right now ?.

If you are happy with your BA, you will love a 6SP BF2.

Theres no significant short commings. However no one can say your going to get a faultless car.

I would agree the BF cars are another leap ahead of the BA's. The six speed combined with all the other improvements really makes them extra nice.

Generally the BF and BF2 are far more reliable, and the build quality is definitely better.

I do except that there's nothing to say that you are going to get a perfect car every time but fingers crossed together with a great dealer that I have built up a great rapport with over time ( Strapp in Doncaster ) it should all be smooth sailing

A BF is worth it for the NVH alone, but that 6SP is a gem.

It will be a XR6 Falcon Sedan havn't decided on color or all the options yet but when I do i'll let you know.

I've got an 03 Futura, what shortcomings, it's the wifes car and I love it, love driving it, drives well, sits on the road well, handles well,and good power with excellent economy (dedicated gas).
Should I be worried, is something going to burst my bubble?

We bought a BA Mk 2 XR6 over a BF Mk 1 XR6 because the Mk 2 felt like the better finished car. Probably a car by car comparison, but the silver inserts didn't do anything for me vs the black.
