Default 05 Focus clutch

I have just bought a little 05 LS Focus for a run around car, and for the eldest daughter to learn to drive in / have as a first car. Hoping to keep the repair cost as reasonable as possible. Going to have a go at fitting it myself at home. Paperwork indicates it's a CL / LS, 2.0l duratek. Has Zetec 17" wheels fitted, and XR badging (dealer optioned from what i was told)

Locally bought, 2 female owners from new. The clutch went from working fine to no clutch pedal over the course of 2 days. I bought it knowing it needed clutch work and got it tilt trayed to my house. On inspection the fluid reservoir was empty, i filled it and pumped the clutch several times, and still got no pedal. About 10 minutes later the reservoir emptied out and had dropped the fluid on the ground, from what appears to be the slave cylinder.

I'm aware that to replace the slave cylinder the gearbox needs to come out. Car has 190,000k's, and to my knowledge has never had a clutch replaced. This assumption leads me to believe it still has the factory Dual Mass Flywheel fitted. Chances are the clutch is due for replacement anyway.

Been quoted locally $2000 for a DMF clutch kit (including flywheel), or $1250 for an Exedy single mass conversion kit. Seems to be a bit dear.

Cheaper units can be had out of the USA, but not sure if the models are the same as Australian delivered vehicles. Wondering if i can get the vendor to do a VIN check to see if it'll work?

I know this is a 2.3 clutch, Another listing i was looking at said it will fit 2.0 and 2.3, but the 2.0 will require shorter flywheel bolts.

Any suggestions on where to go from here? Are these clutches any good?
