The Bosch battery which tested good and I put in my Cruze, has died in 36 hours. Looks like a shorted cell by its behaviour on charge.
![]() My lithium jumper battery needs charging. ![]() ![]() Due to a Karen issue then the fortnight of rain, I missed my usual round-robin six weekly charging of all the “kerbside classics” and the ones blocking others in, are both dead. ![]() ![]() ![]() The tow pig is hooked to the trailer, it would be a right ballache to shift complete with car on trailer, and the new jockey wheel our halfwit installed is too big - you can’t drop the jockey and uncouple without a jack to assist. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() So I’ve binned the afternoon plans and got two batteries charging. |

Only problem thereafter was, the car we're hoping to hand back tomorrow still has a boost fault. Have ruled out fuelling, software, pedal sensors, EGR and DPF by extensive testing but it faults after getting up to temperature as tested this afternoon. Not happy about that!

I have to admit. I went from around 10 cars a few years ago, to a couple last year. Felt like a huge weight off my shoulders. |

I’m more annoyed at my complacency and sloth, there were three loose batteries I could have charged during the rainy two weeks - but didn’t.

I dont know which part I hate more
Thursday afternoon, I was supposed to be delivering a car I was in the process of selling, but in the process of leaving work, I got asked to jump start a truck that a customer was about to pick up. Why was the battery flat? because the cleaners had left the work light in the back of the truck switched on. Needless to say, I wasnt able to get the car to where the buyer wanted it in time and now he's pulled the pin on the deal. Then, friday morning, I go to start it to move it, and all of a sudden it doesnt want to start, not even with a sniff of ether, it did happily start thursday afternoon when I got home and moved it back under cover. What really ****es me off, is that I've lost out on the deal, and I now have no way of dealing with this situation that isnt either going to see me lose even more money, or end up with me in handcuffs on charges akin to crimes against humanity & hate crimes after taking my frustrations out on a couple of knuckle dragging apes that are only meant to be in the country on a bloody fruit pickers visa, not cleaning cars.

There is one dominant media conglomerate (TV and newspaper) here in Perth WA. Thankfully on Mondays they do allow the publication of an independent opinion summery. Today this article blew the papers editorial into the weeds. The editorial dodged all around the serious international issues which for many voters would likely have influenced their vote, whereas the other independent contributor nailed them.

Nope, when their stupidity costs me money, I see no reason to be forgiving.

Telco's keep dumping Mobile Phone Plans.
I have a yearly prepaid plan they have discontinued and the replacement plan has more data and is 30% dearer. My current plan I used about 25% of the Data Allowance. |

Yeah, same situation for me too, and that's on a very basic data plan.

People who are too lazy to walk up and speak to me normally, so instead they shout from a distance and expect me to hear what they have said.
Or those who stick their head out the door and shout out my name as if summoning a dog. Again, laziness from people who can't be bothered using their feet, so they yell instead.

Ripped a hole in my favorite jumper this morning moving a steel storage cabinet. So bummed because it's not easily (cheaply) replaced.

Hired a Mustang earlier this week, only for it to shit itself on a back road 100km from the airport.
![]() ![]() Towie took me and the Mustang back to the airport the following day, then to be given an Everest. They must’ve thought they were doing me a favour, as hire rates for this was actually higher than the Mustang. ![]() What a miserable thing to drive long distance on any road that isn’t smooth dual carriageway. Once again it further reinforced how absolutely laughable it is people think these are a viable replacement for decent sedans and wagons. In hindsight I should have tried to cancel the reservation and gone to the hire company that still have Focus hatches. Bring back the Falcon. Last edited by smoo; 10-05-2025 at 06:29 AM. |

Outrageous. The reason people buy SUV s and 4wds is for the higher hip point entry exit. Old bastards like me have tight hips and worn lower backs making getting in and out of quaint low sedans and hatches very difficult. |

Agree with you, I recently purchased the Subaru XT Outback wagon, with the higher height makes it easy for entry/exit, I was originally looking at the WRX wagon, too low for my liking as I struggled in and out.

It would be interesting to compare a late 1960s Falcon, Kingswood etc with a modern SUV in terms of ease of entry and exit. The bench vinyl seat easy to swivel on to enter and exit, no side bolsters etc. |

[QUOTE=OneMadMan;6964570]I had a problem with Vodafone. So I asked a few questions. I was paying 35 a month with 5 Gb included. Now I'm with a company called Telsim, who use Telstras network. Couldn't be happier. Network coverage is outstanding. So now I'm paying $22 a month prepaid monthly and get 10Gb included. As a bonus, what data you don't use gets rolled over towards your next months data up to a max of 500 Gigs.
Might be worth 5 mins of your life to investigate. They have lots of plans. I don't use my phone online, so data for me isn't an issue. Thank you OneMadMan, I had a look the prices are verry competitive. I have a few months before my current plan expires. ![]() Last edited by EBSXR6; 11-05-2025 at 10:00 AM. |
