Default Price for pads and best value rotor

Guys im after a price for some pads that dont produce to much dust and some good value rotors for my TE (premium brake package) fronts only

Matt just a quick question. Im after a set of rotors for my T2 TE50 and a set of pads.
Ive also been told there was a change to the front rotor in the T2's, is this correct. Mine is 11/00 build. Also after postage to 4019

AU-III T-Series 5.6 L V8 2000 - 2003 F 506 Vented 329 x 28

If this is your car then only the DBA506 will fit.Front only
Slotted rotors $620 a pair
4000 slotted rotors $720 a pair

Yeah maye mine is a 00 model, does it matter what month, im pretty sure they are 329mm only mine have red calipers twin piston.
re Pads, i just want something thats middle of the range not the most expensive.

Apart from the previous quote another supplier now has slotted rotors in stock and these are alot cheaper at $290 a pair.There is some difference in quality between these cheaper rotors and the dearer ones but under std street driving you will be hard pressed to find any difference in braking.The Bendix pads at $62 will be fine for street driving.
Freight is $25 thanks

Could you post up a pic of the rotors so i can have a look? My TE rarely gets drivin hard but i want something thats half decent so bendix pads it is.
What brand are these other rotors? and have you had any trouble with them?

The T3 rotors won't fit your T2 as late in the SII cycle they changed the offset and being a 00 model you would still have the caliper on the trailing edge of the rotor as opposed to the T3 leading edge.

Surely someone has an idea on what rotor i can use FFS. Matt can you shed some light on this for me

Taken from the DBA catalogue.
AU III T Series 5.6L V8 (twin piston) 2000-2003 but there is no mention of offset.
Have a look on page 34

Have a look on page 34
The AUIII has a bracket in behind the caliper that the older style doesn't use. I could show you the difference in the rotor offset between the premo T3 and standard AUII set up if you want.

But is there a difference between the T2 premium set up and the standard AUII set up, otherwise there is no point in comparing the T3 to the AUII standard brakes. But yeah put up a pic.
This is just frustrating the hell out of me how hard can it be to get the right rotors for my T2 FFS.
Edit : Can you get the bracket and then run the T3 rotors? What does the bracket do anyway? Does it change the mounting of the caliper to suit the rotor or what happens there.

The bracket is what the T3 caliper mounts up to and the brackets are worth a fortune. Shaynet was telling me that IIRC Ford wanted $800 for the pair and it would cost the same to get them made up. What is the depth of the hat on your current rotor? Measure that and I'll be able to tell you if it is the same.

That's it. Grab the measurement and a pic if you can and I'll tell you if they are the same. That will fix your problem.

Gave mine a quick measure using the same method and mine is 20mm or thereabouts.

I think you will find it is the 329mm x 28mm DBA506 which is what i have been quoting.The red caliper you have on there is throwing everyone off i think as ford only released the Brembo calipers in red and you have a twin piston caliper.FFS (lol.As you would say))if you want to be 100% sure for yourself pull the rotor off the car and measure the diameter of it the thickness of it and the total height (48.3mm) of the complete rotor when laid flat on the ground.Check what the minimum thickness is that is stamped on the rotor.I can supply what ever you want in aftermarket rotors but you both need to sort out what you have first.

TS50 & TL50 calipers were red from factory, it was the TE50 & XR's that had the silver "non-colour".

Ok you sound convincing (lol) so i could be wrong :hihi: but only because i haven't seen any in the years i have been doing this.

Ok i e-mailed DBA yesrerday and he called me back today. He said the only rotor it could be is the DBA506 or a Brembo rotors and mine aint Brembo. And going of the spec sheet in the brochure scans on here they are 329mm x 28mm and the DBA506 (4000 series) is the only one they have so id say it has to be it.

I have the street slotted on mine and they are pretty good, though when it comes time to buy new ones I will go the 4000 series for the **** factor lol. Here's a thought, maybe give Ford spare parts a call and ask them about the rotors. If their part numbers are the same between the two all will be good. So damn confusing as every different place tells you a different story.
