It's going on a diet.

No word on if it's coming down under yet.
It will never get 0-60mph in 2.7 seconds.

It already has, however my understanding is as it's still in development (pre-production model), I'd imagine it won't hit the streets stock with a sub 3. A bit like when the numbers were crazy fast when the XR6T was still testing.

What it does show at the least is its potential. And I'd still be all over this even if it comes out with sub 4 seconds stock.

As for economy, if it's anything like the current Jeep SRT with the 8 speed, you will need a tanker following.
It's not to bad cruising but put the boot in and there's a price to be paid for pushing those kind of weights quickly.

Jeep gave its U.S. dealers a sneak peek at the hottest machine in its upcoming lineup: the Hellcat-powered Grand Cherokee SRT Trackhawk. Yes, it’s real.

The Hellcat-ified Grand Cherokee, which we’ve been telling you about for a while now, was shown to Fiat-Chrysler dealers during the automaker’s annual dealership meeting in Las Vegas yesterday, Automotive News reports. As it will pack the 707-hp 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 found in Dodge’s neck-snappiest Challenger and Charger, Jeep told the assembled vehicle peddlers that the all-wheel-drive SRT Trackhawk will accomplish the zero-to-60-mph sprint in an astounding 3.5 seconds. For the record, the quickest such time posted in our last mega-SUV comparison test was 4.0 seconds, by the BMW X5 M. Timing for the Trackhawk’s arrival wasn’t confirmed, but our latest intelligence suggests it will be on the road by next summer.

It’s also much quicker than the already superquick Grand Cherokee SRT, whose 475 ponies hustled it to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds in our test. It’s also about as far removed from the original Jeep mandate—rugged off-road capability—as a vehicle can get, but we’re not complaining. As far as we’re concerned, the more Hellcats the better.

I've been wondering for a while if we will see a run of Charger Demons after the 3300 Challenger Demon run is done before the mid year retool next year for the 2019 model refresh..............it might be tempting for Dodge to also claim fastest 4 door sedan bragging rights when most costs are already amortised.

Cheers Mick

I have only seen a few of these around but just at Car Shows although that changed on Saturday at the Geelong Revival Motoring Festival.

When I was watching the 1/4 mile runs the fastest was a 10.8 BUT the Trackhawk did a 11.2, the guy driving it said it was his tow car and it prob went faster later on in the day but not bad for a heavy beast.

This was on an unprepped near the Geelong Foreshore.

The people calling the event on the loud speakers lost the plot with talking dribble and not calling out ALL the times when there was a run so I am not sure what car went the fastest on Saturday

Thanks for the link - that makes it more impressive as he came 7th in the top 10 - he had registered his 2009 Nissan Skyline but that broke at Sandown the week before so he took his Trackhawk - he had the 41 sticker on the side of his Dodge

Ah that explains why I couldnt see the Trackhawk time!

THat is flying. I noticed there was a Ford Territory that did a quickest of 11.1 (Cars Saturday - Run 4), which is quick, and there was a 2008 4L turbo falcon doing 11.7 as well..

I had the same issue looking at the time sheets on Saturday until I asked him - I did not think to look for the number 41 rather than the vehicle make

Yeah the Territory was quick, I did not inspect it see if it was basically a street car or gutted.

When the tracked dried the rear wheel drive cars got better time but the commentators only called random times as they were blabbing on about some **** instead about what the had to eat and drink

AWD cars had a pretty nice advantage on the slippery track.
