888 All Ford Fan Day

G'day all,

As posted in our events calander here is some mor info on the 888 Fan Day on 4 Dec 05.

Release Date: 02/11/2005 Triple Eight Race Engineering today unveiled plans for an ‘All Ford Fan Day’ at Queensland Raceway on Sunday December 4. The ‘Triple Eight All Ford Fan Day’ will include exciting V8 Supercar and road car on track activities as well as a massive display of vehicles highlighting Ford’s 80 years of Australian motoring history.

Attracting family and fellowship, entry is FREE and fans will have plenty of opportunity to spend time with Team drivers Craig Lowndes and Steve Ellery, purchase Team Betta Electrical and Triple Eight merchandise and have the chance to lap Willowbank in a Team Betta Electrical Ford Falcon race car as well as Ford Falcon GT’s and XR's driven by Team drivers.

Brisbane band ‘Resonate’ will perform on the day, there will be a V8 Supercar speed comparison between a Team Betta Electrical V8 Supercar, Spectrum Formula Ford, Aussie Legend race car and a Yamaha R1 road bike as well as a special kids area complete with FREE jumping castle, train, carousel and pirate ship.

And if that’s not enough one lucky fan will have the chance to drive away in a Ford Fiesta LX three door manual hatch including twelve months Queensland registration courtesy of Metro Ford Brisbane!

Team Principal Roland Dane said the ‘Triple Eight All Ford Fan Day’ was a way of giving something back to the loyal fans that have supported Team Betta Electrical all year.

“We wanted to do something that would say thankyou to the fans that have supported us all year,” Dane said. “And what better way than providing a free day of entertainment at QLD Raceway.

“By holding our Fan Day at Queensland Raceway we are able to provide an all Ford day for Ford Car Clubs and a fantastic day of non-stop entertainment for our fans.

“All those who attend on the day will also have the chance to win some incredible prizes including a brand new Ford Fiesta and laps of Queensland Raceway with the team drivers,” Dane added.

Craig Lowndes commended the concept as a good way to interact with fans away from a busy race meeting.

“This is a fantastic team concept,” Lowndes said. “We are all so busy at race meetings we don’t always get to interact with our fans enough.

“The ‘Triple Eight All Ford Fan Day’ is purely for the fans and gives them the chance to spend quality time with us in a relaxed environment where we don’t have to rush off to other commitments.

As this is expected to become an annual, must do event, for all FORD fans, Diarize December 4 now!

Well only 1 week till the big trip. cant wait. :1syellow1 The foxes, from rocky and boonah( uncle fox - orange pursuit ute), will be there. Will be on the way back from melboune so will be tired probably

Howdy everyone
Imagine my surprise when my phone rang and the giy on the other end of the phone was the Commercial Operations Manager (Peter) from Triple 8.
As some of you would know my Apex Club did the gates at the Qld 300 and also the HRCC at Qld Raceway.
It appears that the 888 guys need us to handle the gates and crowd control.
I attended a meeting at Bowen Hills (including a personal tour of the workshop) and they outlined the day. (Wow)
To say that this will be good would be an understatement. Fords of every kind will be there, hot laps, kids rides, RC cars, pit crew challenges, total nutbag - Matty Mingay, our club display, discounted merchandise and of course a chance to see Craig and farewell our old mate Steve. Even Jamie will be there.
I will have to catch up with Ms Tori or Gecko so they can take my car in for the display.
All of this for the Princely sum of $00.00, thats right free.
If you miss this day you can't possibly have blue blood running through you veins.

xr8 utey, make sure you go see the 888 boys at Phillip Island and get some pointers on the best way to handle the rattle gun for maximum speed. I've put yours and Maries names down on the pitstop challenge comp also
