Excluding general wear and tear items, brake pads, tyres, etc. Paid $800 for my EA. $66 for a pair of NEW headlights after a coal truck i was following to work decided i didn't need them. All hosing under the bonnet was done when i worked for Enzed on night shift.

I last posted in this thread on the 19/05/07 and to this day i STILL have not spent a cent on my EA. Still stock except for ride height and wheels. Still have the factory Phillips radio and Kenwood rear speakers. Its a everyday driver but she just keeps on going and going. My AU is the one giving me grief.

$50 for aircon idler pulley
$300 for Scorcher bar (still awaiting paint)
$100 for ball joints (not in the car yet)
+ I have a lot of costs coming up on it. It needs a fair bit of work.
Since 19/05/07:

$1000 for wheels and tyres
$900 service where ball joints were fitted, new brake rotors and pads, rear resonator removed and many other things were done. Still needs new rack mounts, trailing arms, and to fix power steering leak
$50 for bodykit (which isn't on the car yet)
$150 for extractors (also yet to go on the car)
$30 for EF door handles (also going on soon)
$80 for SVO grille (which I've decided won't be going on the car)

And the Scorcher bar still isn't painted, but at least it's on the car now

$2,100 for the suspension to be done (Shocks, springs, swaybar, castor camber, bump stops)

Woohoo!

It's funny when I recall my original plans were to replace my old sloppy auto shifter and replace my old cracked amber indicator with another amber indicator! I think I've gone overboard!

Why does the pole stop at $5,000?
I reckon I'd be close to $25,000 now (including the price of the car which was only $2,000).
Front coil overs stung me a grand the other day, DVD player cost a grand, the supercharger with all the extras I've got would be a good $7,000 or so. Plus there's many more, and the car still looks like a bucket of ...

When I got the car all I wanted was tinted windows a CD player and a noisey exhaust and then I thought she'd just be awsome!

I've spent about 50k on the engine and drivetrain in my EB alone, car cost me $32,595 brand new in '91. Add bodykit, Simmons, mild interior bits (will do a full interior soon) and there u go.
Actually had the receptionist at work have a go at me last week when I told her what had been spent on the running gear, she reckons I'm mad. I asked her how long she'd been smoking - since age 13. I then told her to calculate what it costs her per year to my age (35) and see what she gets. The final outcome would be $57k.
So I then told her with my vice - I still come out cheaper, gets me where I wanna go and won't leave me with lung cancer. With the 7k left over I could go that blower and with the change, spot her a few packets of ciggies.

We don't talk about cars anymore.

well when the intec I6 conversion took place the previous owner decided it was a better idea to modify the cross member rather then simply grinding back the fins on the sump. hence when it came time to get a blue slip done they knocked me back so i needed an engineers repot/certificate what ever you wanna call it for them to pass it.
