Default Escort VIN decode

Hi Guy's,
trying to decode what I think is the VIN.
Not sure I can post the complete VIN.
(Whether someone else could use it ?).

CK5PPJ7

Thanks,

Thanks,
The VIN, or chassis number should be 2 letters, 2 numbers, 2 letters, 5 numbers and a letter.

The first 6 tell most about the car.

Can anyone help me with mine?

CK4PWK74298R

C = UK Origin
K = Sydney built

And the last "R" I'm pretty sure is 2 Litre Low compression?

But outside of that I'm stumped.

Thanks Guy's. I have ended up buying another escort.
Again, it is CK. I suppose I am pushing it a bit.
But is it possible to find out where in the UK the kit would have been made.
Thanks,

For Capri's, the CKDs or Completely Knock Down kits were manufactured at Halewood, just out of Liverpool. We're Escorts originating there or were they coming from Dagenham on the Thames out of London, I don't know!

Halewood, not too far from where I grew up. Which is one of the reasons I asked. Be nice to clarify for sure. Thanks,

Apparently, Mk.1s were built at both Halewood and Dagenham, but Mk.2s were only built at Halewood. Given that ALL Capri CKDs originated from Halewood, it stands to reason that the same occurred with Escorts?

Legend, thanks mate.

Is there a way to get the factory fitted options from Ford Australia? I'm keen to find out what wheels etc mine came with as it's a Rally Pack and from what I know it's very close to original and would like to bring it up to original spec if possible.

Give Ford a ring on 13FORD and ask, I know Capri members who have been given a build sheet with all applicable options and codes.
