Default 2011 Explorer / Taurus / Terry / Falcon

Just saw this

So the Explorer is to be built on D3 platform - the same platform as the Taurus.

There has already been speculation that next Terry would be built on same platform as Explorer, so it looks more and more like the stars are aligning for Falc and Taurus to share platforms people.

Queue starts here for an AWD 6.2l GT, people

I don't know if you can read too much into that. Until I hear more about the "speculation" that you speak of, I wouldn't be reading too much into it. It's certainly a valid point though, and it may well happen, but who knows what Ford plan to do at this stage.
