Fg gt i'phone 5 wont work !!! Ford says no fix !

WTF . wife tried to book the GT INTO FORD DEALER TO GET THE ICC UPDATED FOR THE IPHONE 5S ONLY TO BE TOLD THEY WONT LOOK AT IT AND CANT FIX IT AS THERE IS NO UPDATE FOR THE 5S !!!

THIS IS PATHETIC .

Thought ASL would be able to confirm this is true . so i posted here . cheers . any one else having this problem with the 5s and FPV .

we have just upgraded to iPhone 5s and they work in both our FG's, no issues with Bluetooth so far and using the genuine apple adaptor we have full control of our music through the icc

ok well she has a non genuine ebay adaptor . bluetooth is working , perhaps thats the issue .

when we tried the iphones originally, the rep had a non gen adaptor and it did not work, we went to the apple shop only on Friday night and bought 1 genuine adaptor, I was not going to buy two if they did not work correctly, I would just buy a cheaper aftermarket one, buty as I have posted, the gen one works in both our cars so will be buying another gen one.

I got told the same thing but with the Bluetooth. Apparently you can update the module for $550 for it to work on the 5S I was told by my local ford... Would rather buy a cheap aftermarket Bluetooth kit for that price

My 5S doesn't go so well but the missus' 5 (original) is ok.
I think ford just like to use this as an excuse to get out of the fixing the actual problem

from what I understand and happy to be corrected, the problem is apple not sticking to an agreed Bluetooth protocol

How much can you change the protocol though? Surely if it works, it works!

well apparantely the problem is with the 5s not the 5. and the dealer says it was up to Ford to provide an update , and they havent done this , so there is no fix .
so the blutooth works and phone calls can be made , but trying to play music does not work .

Changing the protocol would be like comparing apples and oranges.......no chance of it working properly.

only reporting back what I have been told re iphones not working in many Bluetooth applications while it seems every other brand of phone with Bluetooth does
