Default Drag Week 2011 - The Whole Story Video

HOT ROD Drag Week is the event that takes street racers to five races at four drag strips in five days, and the cars are required to drive on the highway from track to track with no support vehicles. In 2011, Drag Week went 1,260 mile from Topeka, Kansas, to Great Bend, Kansas; Amarillo, Texas; Tulsa, Oklahoma; and back to Topeka.

great video, explaining what Drag Week is, what happens there and some racing

shame he didn't go, but also lucky. he has coined himself the new nickname Sandman after running a couple passes at WSID sand left over from sandblasting was coming out onto the track, luckily himself, the car and noone else got hurt or damaged.

it would be awesome to go over. have always wanted to do one of these. the APSA has sorta mentioned maybe trying something here also. maybe just with east-coast tracks or regional tracks.

Sounds like fun the Carpi would go good at this sort of format. Don't worry about the sand the amount of gravel, grass and dirt the grass pit guys bring to the start line each run should be a ongoing concern.

it's the exact thing the Capri was built for. unfortunately we'd have to slow it down. from what Arby was telling me, cars running 8.5 or quicker in the US need a funny car cage around the driver. the parachute assembly can double as a tow bar

it'd suck having to drive those Lenco, Liberty boxed things, good thing bout the Capri with the 2-speed Glide, 1 gearshift, you can cruise the highways 60-65mph at a little over 2000rpm
