Default what to do with AUFALCON.COM

As many of you know, aufalcon.com is on the old FF server. At this point in time I do NOT have any access to change it at all therefore it is a dead site although it is functional (for the time being anyhow).
I am hating the fact that it is pointing to the "other site" and there is nothing I can do about that.

Therefor I have 2 options.

1. Leave it alone and just tolerate it till I can get it on to another server. This may be a little while away yet.

2. Delete the DNS entry and basically kill the site. Although I dont have access to the site itself, I control where the name aufalcon.com points to so I can still kill the site.

So I'm leaving it up to everyone else, let me know what I should do.

Casper do be aware that if you own the domain name they are not allowed to use it.They must shut it down.

That applies in the much better regulated .com.au domains.

If you have DNS casper any external link will poin to where you decide. Links from within FF can still point to the old URL. So why not redirect the dot com DNS to a .com.au site. The rest will sort itself out in time.

Thing is, they are not using it, they have simply stopped me from using it. I can shut it down but untill I can move it to a new server I dont know what to do.

Fortunatly Russ had the quick wits to grab the aufalcon.com.au name as well so he cant use that either.

I just hate to see all our work going to another site now. I HATE it. used:

That's what I was thinking must be possible - redirect the redirect.

Domain Name: AUFALCON.COM
Registrar: ENOM, INC.
Whois Server: whois.enom.com
Referral URL: http://www.enom.com

thats the ownership of aufalcon.com they decide where its DNS is directed.

Do you have something like aw-stats records showing how many hits are direct entries? probably lots less than you think. and prime google as soon as your new domain is up.

I have it all.
Yes, I can redirect it anywhere but I dont have the server to put it on yet. So its on the FF server...that I can not access (and expect never to have access again) or its nowhere for the time being until it gets a new home.

Shane, cant we just save all the stuff in it, and close it down, and just redo it here?

Shane, i think thats your best bet just leave it until the rest of the sight is all sorted & then give it enother go

i belive there is to much info there to let it fall by the wayside

It is more important and productive having it running than it is shutting it down isn't it ?

Hold out til the server is sorted I reckon. Keep the flag running high til then.

*stands and salutes lol *

Looks like we have a (temporary) solution.

RED_EL_XR8 just saved the day. More details shortly.

Ok, thanks to RED_EL_XR8 we have a temporary home for aufalcon.com. He has kindly donated some space (more than enough) and bandwidth to help us out. He has also set up the DNS links (at his own cost) so that it can all work.
aufalcon.com should be up and running sometime tomorrow however, as expected, there will be some areas not up. These include the Premium members areas, guestbook and videos. All else should be good to go.

Now, for all you au guys in Sydney. Track down RED_EL_XR8, get him to a pub, and shout him as many beers as he can swallow. We all owe him big time for this and I, for one, certainly will NEVER forget it.

Cheers.

Awesome. au.falcon.com(.au) cannot be killed !

RED_EL_XR8 : Where do we send the case ?

Casper does that mean we need new car stickers or are we just gonna run a batch off that have ".au" on them and stick them on the end of our current ones lol

nope, aufalcon.com remains aufalcon.com.
The name wont change, just the server it lives on.
It will be a bit cut down while its at its temporary home but will be back to full strength soon enough. Its our site, we havent lost any of it.
