Default Escort swaybar

Doing up a mk2 Escort all new suspension inc steering and whiteline front swaybar. Would a heavy duty rear sway bar be of use? there is no bar there now and the car will be club reg & used for club sprints.

The general concences on escorts with rear bars is to remove it and fit firmer rear springs.

My rs2000 rear bar was removed for club days with 5 leaf rear springs and with good tyres handles superbly, was even commented on how flat it sat by an evo 9 driver at wakefeild park.whilst he was trying to get past in the twistys.

Now a good track set up to start wil be:

Get coil over front struts 225lb springs to start ,good quality dampers( adjust able koni, billies),poly bushes 22m front bar anti dive kit, strut brace, race spec street tyres(ao32Rs etc....),and some race pads and you will have transformed your escort.
depends on how much you want to spend.

Then go ,adjustable lower control arm or strut tops and have a bit more of a play with your settings

What about upgrading the steering rack to a quick rack?
Found it to be a fun upgrade on the street with twisty corners.
