Default Brembo Shuddering

Hi Matt, I was gonna send you a PM but thought I'd get it out in here.

2012 FG GT MK2 6/4 Genuine FPV Brembo's shuddering at low, almost parking speed, enough to make you say a swear word.

Very occasionally, not all the time, hot or cold, very random.

Any ideas?

Brembo pads leaving deposits??

I am at a loss for an explanation.

Possible control arm bushes worn as this was very common when they first came out and they don't look worn but being fluid filled they don't cope well with the big brembo stopping power. The complaint from memory was the shuddering and sometimes felt like the ABS was coming on. There should be a few threads on this on the forum.Let me kow how you go.

Thanks Matt, definately not the bushes, she's only done 4500 klms

I can see the front wear marks looks as if only 80% of the pad is being used.

Possible bed in issue?

I guess the only way to rectify is to skim and re-pad if this was the case?

We had FG owners with less km's and having the same issue.I can't say 100% this is your problem without an inspection but it was an issue. See how you go with the bedding in but 4500 klms is enough bedding in time.
Some customers would only feel it on the left side to start with but it only got worse and customers taking there cars back to Ford didn't believe it either at first. The nolathane bushes fixed the issue.

Read this i hope the link works

When I had shudder it was very violent when low speed cornering also pulling into a drive ways but it didn't always do it like stated above almost like abs coming in. Turned out to be the upper inner control arm bushes.

Are all the contact surfaces clean?

I remove the studs from the hub plate and go nuts with an electric drill and wire brush:

This.

Wasn't this a recurring issue, and Ford ended up releasing/fitting an updated upper control arm bush?

Would be worth looking through the FG problems thread: http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=11224789

No idea because mine didn't originally come with brembos so I didn't notice the problem till after they were put on.
