I lost 40 hours per week.

I had never claimed any form of social security, hardship payment or the dole in my working life of 44 years, nor had I ever had to deal with Centrelink, until now.

Not knowing what to expect, I needed to contact Centrelink to get a CRN (Customer Reference Number), before I could put my online application in through my MyGov account.

Thinking I would be on the phone for hours and on hold especially during this Pandemic and with more than the normal number of claims being made, I grabbed a coffee before calling.

I was pleasantly impressed with Centrelink... My call was answered and I was speaking to a staff member within 15 seconds!
Quicker and more efficient than ringing my bank or a large Telco.

Later in the day, I had to ring them back again due to a technical issue I had linking Centrelink to MyGov... Again the phone was answered by support staff in a flash.

Within 3 hours after I put my application through... I could not believe that my first disaster payment was already in my bank account!

Each week of the lockdown has been the same... Like clockwork, the money is in my account every Friday.

Kudos to the Government in how they are quickly handling these disaster payments to those that are affected!
They’ve redeployed thousands of staff from within (and outside) Services Australia to process these. Many working longer hours (some unpaid) and weekends.

Lucky bugger you, the Gods were with you during your application process, lots of other less intelligent folk from the lowest income areas dident receive such a charmed run, you did and I am happy for you, my local Centrelink was overwhelmed during our 1 month lockdown in 2020 Perth, the line to get in was a kilometre long, if I go to Centrelink now or today it's empty, so lucky bugger me!

VicPol not doing themselves any favours by calling the protesters cowards a day after footage showed them pushing an old lady to the ground and squirting pepper spray directly into her face while she lay on the road.

That's bloody disgraceful, I only watch snippets on TV and I just change channels, it upsets me to watch mainly adult men carrying on like hooligans, very sad times ahead for everyone, not just Melbourne!

NSW records 1,035 cases in the current period and the 10-day average growth rate increases to 0.9851 (from 0.9627) while the actual line is slightly above the predictive trend line and based on the 4th order polynomial, that trend line now has a downward curve.

VIC records 628 cases in the current period (another high for this outbreak) and the 10-day average growth rate increases to 1.0702 (from 1.10420) while the actual line is trending with but slightly below the predictive trend line.

"Man babies" is probably more appropriate.

This is who organised the Telegram group...

Also photos emerging of someone holding a Trump flag during yesterday's riot. Its moved on a bit from the mandatory vaccination protest.

The footage of Melb is looking a lot like US scenes. Media puts it out there and people follow.

It's a mish mash. Jumping on people's cars doesn't appear to be an anti mandatory vaccination message.

Maybe some within the union itself will sort these fellas out, as it will have a flow on effect on their industry. They aren't the sort you want to mess with for too long.

I keep daily screen shots of vaccination rates.

Today's number is .1% lower than yesterday for fully vaccinated and .2% lower for first dose.

Hows that possible? Has someone been fiddling with the numbers and put it online by accident?

Will post screen shots later.

Yep.

He had 47.8 yesterday and 47.7 today.

I believe the correct number to be 47.7%

He should have just left it. You can argue that every 2hrs it goes up. 1% anyway so he would have been covered.

Going back is not a good look, I'm sure others noticed.

Lots of "white" faces there, lots of Anglo Saxon, Celtic faces etc, hope I am wrong but shades of the National Front, sneaky as hell they are, fit through any crack like a snake!

It's already started, but that's what moronic people do, follow the trend, or whoever is leading, we may never know that, just the lesser lights, all trying to make a name for themselves, so what's new

So my story of todays first Covid vac jab.

Both my wife and I are booked in for our 1st shot, same day, appointments 15 minutes apart - I'm first.
Walked in 15 minutes early and was handed the checklist form to fill out.
There's about a dozen people there waiting.
There is one pen available to use and it is in the Used container.
I ask for a pen and lady wipes one down that's on her desk and I head to the seats to fill the form out.
On my way there is a Dr calling out my name. I ignore it because it cant be me, it is still over 10 minutes til my appt time but when nobody responds I tell him that I have just arrived and need to fill out the form. He retreats back to his office, I fill out the form, return to the desk but am told to hold onto the form and take a seat. My wife fills out the form and goes to the desk but doesnt return.
I wait.
After 15 minutes my wife appears and says she's already done and waiting in a 2nd room.
I shrug. But I am watching many people leave and others file in, all looking for pens and a place to seat (vinyl seats, no sanitising going on here)

Wife brings back a nurse and there is obviously some confusion.
She can't find my name on the list.
She asks me to her office and wants me to confirm my name.
On the PC screen, my name is highlighted in green....1st dose complete.
She queries me, thinking I have made a mistake and am here for my 2nd shot.
No.
Good start this....I'm already a bit anxious about the whole deal and this is pretty poor.
She takes my word for it, she is also not happy and apologises then edits the screen and I get the first shot.
My intention was to quiz her on the gap between 1st and 2nd shot and she confirmed that 6 weeks wait is better than 3 but all "patients" are being pushed to get the 2nd jab asap, ie. shortest accepted gap, 3 for Pfizer, 6 for AZ.

I ask is this being done to hit the big 80% target, regardless of efficacy and she agrees that yes it is. She's still not happy.
She also informed me they are spending a lot of money changing the name of AZ to something else (Vacci-something) due to the stigma attached to AZ/clots. We agree they must think we are all stupid.
I find my wife and we head back to the desk to cancel our appt in 3 weeks and change it to 6 weeks time. Lady is hesitant and thinks I have made an error in my request.
No.
She makes the change but appears to not be happy doing it.
Hmm.
We sit back down to wait our 15 minutes and read our pamphlet about side-effects. My wife has an extra paper form so we take a look and it has details about another patient. She has been given someone else's info.
We found the nurse that seemed to be the only capable one there and she takes the extra form away and apologises. I jokingly say "First time this has happened?" Headshake and "No, nearly everyday. There's too many people here all trying to push everyone through"

Lets just go home hey?

What a ****show.
