Birdstrike by the looks of it. Hit the leading edge of the trailing edge flaps ('flaps' generally known) on a jetstar A320 (or perhaps A321...though they don't have many of those). Nice hit quite hard by the looks of it. Would have to be late in the landing (or perhaps takeoff) given the spot it is in since i'd say the flaps have to be down to get a hit in that location (not that familiar with A320s though so can't say for sure....)

While the basic Ford Six was code named Barra, the Turbo version clearly deserved its very own moniker – again enter Gordon Barfield.
We asked him if the engine had actually been called “Seagull” and how that came about.
“Actually it was just call “Gull”, because I named it that. Because we knew it was going to poo on everything”.

Is the cat the same plane you posted before? Or are there two in the same place?

The two photos above /\ are of the same aircraft, the photo in the other post is a different ship.

They haven't painted any of the RR engined craft in the new livery and i doubt they will bother given th latest rumour is that despite 787 delays once jetstar starts to get their (next year) the Jetstar a330 come back to qantas for domestic duties. This will lead to the retirement of some 767s starting with the RR ex-BA craft.

Never know though they are looking a bit ratty maybe they will get that repaint before being given the boot. Just to make things fair given you have graciously posted a pic of the model version here is a virtual representation of ZXA's sister ship ZXB smoking her way on RW19 in Brisbane. Can't remember the flight but probably another cityflyer from syd/melb....

I dont think they will be retired that soon as LAMES were on 767 courses recently and they are painted during their normal cycle and they only have a small number of 738 aircraft painted in the new scheme.

Here's a video on the new 747-8 intercontinental being joined in the Boeing factory. You can really see the extra length in it, it's now longer than a 777-300ER.

The thing that amazes me is the size of the Boeing manufacturing facilites in the USA. Makes ours look so insignificant here in Australia.

Took a few shots from Perth today. I was flying skywest and made sure to take my camera. These are only a few, and the last one is by far my favourite picture. I set it as my desktop and thankfully the task bar hides the workers head.

And the best shot of all imo

Some more editions to the fleet. These are 1:200 scale and brand new all 3 together cost $66us. Even in the U.S these are 50-60ea. Was an awesome deal.

Love the 727 ED! Sportscar of the airliner world. Sadly the last regular use of the aircraft (scheduled) ended a few months ago with the last dhl 727 flight from NZ into syd. Still going on freight charters but with aus air express now on the 733 i don't think we will see much of them anymore.... I think they are banned within a year full stop...sad. Ah...used to love the noise out of cairns airport they made....

Used to love watching the AAE 727's take off from Perth early in the morning. Roaring engines with a big black plume of smoke trailing them for miles....oh those were the days
