Recently I've been looking to downsize from a Falcon to something a bit more city friendly, as a result the Fiesta has caught my interest. I think they are good looking cars, and would be great little cars just to run around town for shops and uni which are just 10 minutes away tops.
I particularly like the WQ shape, but have taken liking to WP as well. I've been browsing carsales to get some more info. The WQ Zetec is the top of the list and has all the extra goodies and safety features. However, being limited to auto, WQ Zetec's can be pricey. I guess if its just going to be a run around car I could live with a LX. I know the WQ LX misses out on some of the safety features of the Zetec like ABS and EBD etc. When comparing the WP LX to WQ LX there doesn't seem to be much difference, or am I missing something? Also, what Fiesta would you recommend and why? Any advice would be much appreciated. |

I have a WQ Zetec auto..its a great car to drive. Suspension is a bit too firm for me. It gets around 8l/100kms. Being auto, not as economical as a manual. Servicing and parts are pricey. Battery is calcium silver $200, spark plugs $30ea, air filter $40 (bugger to change !!) fuel filter $50, oil filter $25, pollen filter $50, 195/45/16 tyres $195 ea (odd size Hankooks tyre cheapest) aircon ok not great, even after a service.(problem with all Euro Fords) Ford Capped price service is $325, (Kmart $225.) I have had it for 6 years and its a great run around..Trade in it's worth nothing $5k....
