Default New Car

As the title suggests, I have gone and traded the ute in and bought myself a new G6ET.

I got it from Etheridge Ford in Melbourne, an awsome group of people to deal with.

To say that I was a bit apprehensive about it would be an understatement as all of you would now how much I liked the ute.

Well all of that went out the window by the time I had reached tarcutta on the way home. I am in love all over again ( don't tell Janene ). These cars are totally in a league of their own. (Would have got an 8 if available though.) After spending the day washing it and the usual messing around, I have not been able to find a problem with it in build quality.

Those who were at Harry's last night would of had a sneak peek at her, dirty at that after 6 hours of rain on the way home.

Anyway enough of my dribble here some pics for you all, not the best as I can't take it out of the yard due to no rego as yet. But these will have to do for the time being

I don't know what is going on with photobucket, as these pics have loaded up looking blurry. They are fine on my programs but not here ??????? :

No, this is staying the way it is. If I do anything I may lower it a little 15-20mm but that 's it.

I would have loved this car with a V8, You do miss the rumble. But in saying that I do love this car already and that is saying something.

Looks like a very nice car Dave. I think I much prefer the look of the G6ET over the XR's and the FPV's. Quite a classy looking car. The luxury side make these quite an attractive option.

Whats the colour? It looks a little burgandy in some shots. Very nice.

It's called Velvet. Changes colour a lot from a very deep purply colour to burgundy, a reddy brown to even sometimes nearly black. Looks spectacular in the sun. Got with the cashmere interior and 19's. I am a happy man, that's for sure.

Things to look out for RapidXR8

1. Warped glovebox lid protuding at the top left hand side
2. Peeling tyre placard stciker (not a biggie)
3. Keep an eye on the bits of rubber coming of the serpentine belt (its normal but something to keep an eye on - one member had to have some brackets/clamps redone)
4. and watch out for any oil leaks - one or two members had minor oil leaks that needed attention

Enjoy the car - they are awesome!

If they were to bring them out with a v8 it would be called a G8E not G6E but welcome to the side of real power although you will miss the rumble of the V8.
Mate looks great clean.

Congrats Dave, it suits the 'old man' look a lot better than a bright yellow ute. I never did understand who you were trying to kid driving round in a big yellow bumble bee :hihi:

I LOVE the colour, very jealous. It would look perfect being just a tiny bit lower, thats the one thing I have noticed with FG models - they're all too bloody high. It's like the EF range all over again!

Thanks Henri. they look good. I like the 2nd one, not sure about the whitwalls though.

It has been put on the back burner for a while now, I have a couple of thing in the pipeline that if it goes ahead I will be needing all my pennies for that.
