The market for LPG is shrinking, new cabs are often Hybrids or Diesels.

StreetChev Or StreetLS mmm which sounds better?

Always bias why aren't they building a VE V6 turbo that would be so awesome end /sarcasm.

Literally only Scotty that sees the potential and knows the aussieness of the Barra.

My bets are they are going to need the second set of injectors.

Awsome build, good to see another boosted injected lpg setup.

It will be a $20k build though. I was hoping it would be a budget build using used parts.
Apart from that i cant wait to see the next episode.

Agree, it started out as a budget screamer but it's well into big-buck territory now.

Amazing how they got the vapour system to run straight gas? Always though that petrol was required on a cold start to get those vaporisers to operating temperature

Been doing it for years on mixer systems .... they can start on LPG no problems .... just need to be primed initially (like the LPI cars do and the EGAS cars do as well)

Got me stuffed why he did'nt buy that Egas ute doner car 1st before spending all that time stuffing around with cheap $200 petrol motor.

Egas bottom end has stronger rods. And proper compression ratio and cam specs for LPG.

Anyways its looking like it will turn into a very fast car with some more boost and tuning.

Cant wait for next episode!

I don't care if it costs or is slower I prefer the rumbling sound and vibe of a prehistoric rambling beast of a, V8. Having said that I enjoy and respect any other performance power plant.. Ps my Au3 Xr8 is on sequential injection LPG.. Cheers

I looked around for a cheap LPG wreck but couldn't see one when that motor popped up. And I needed a FG sump to put an oil drain into anyway. So $200 didn't seem too bad at the time.

You've got to remember that we're filming as we go and we've got video deadlines to meet so sometimes we just need to do something even if it's not the right thing.

Then that BF tonner popped up cheap 10mins from home so I jumped on it.

We'll see what we can get from the petrol engine and then go back to the LPG motor. We raced it last night for the first time with 9psi. It goes pretty good, but it definitely needs those extra injectors to reach its true potential.

G'day....Two hundred bucks for any Barra sounds bloody cheap to me..
It'd have to be pretty shagged out to cost less..Engine swap stuff.
Here's a vid I found about a Barra going into an AU from a young bloke.
Cheap and cheerful it is but it's one reason why we love our old Falcons (and Holdens) like we do
because it can be done for not much coin..Try doing this with the imported stuff at low cost.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nuj2GMzNTFM ...A few fiddly things he needed to do
and do better buy hey , points for having a go and probably not having two bob to rub together.

Cheers Rod..

G'day Just sayin' Turbo Taxi , Oh Yeah https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-uqCFjv19AU
and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uB-Mxo9ygHY ..No point hailing that cab , you'd be just a blur.
10.8 quarter mile . And why do we love the Barra Turbo in general ?
THIS IS WHY ..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=meahbnsY0_w . Doubters , watch the speedo and tach going crazy
No 170k for a W1 either to see under 12 second acceleration.
Cheers Rod..

All running E85 no doubt. We want to do it while running on LPG and the progress is looking pretty good so far.

The hard part is LPG supply ... but with the onset of injected systems .... it makes it a bit easier than the days of old when it was just mixer ring and dual lines. Have seen some of the aftermarket gear from the US for performance setups and they look like a good thing. The main thing out here is .... there's literally no one running performance LPG setups really (and that will run dedicated LPG as well ... as most systems revert back to petrol when the system demands more)

doing one myself at the moment: FG Shell running everything from a donor FG-X HWP. Going down the path of JTG liquid injection with dual pumps and a larger diameter high flowed turbo and 4 inch exhaust. hoping to make some serious cheap power as a daily

Tunnel vision were getting that Mustang into the 8's on a turbo'ed AU engine on straight LPG back in 2012 .... so they at least know what they are doing when in comes to LPG and forced induction.
