Default Re: Asko Appliances - worth the high price?

Probably should have been clearer, I fit dishwashers of all makes in new kitchens. I grab the odd one from the E&S warehouse in Noble Park where they distribute most of the major brands.

After much investigation I have concluded that they are not worth the high price. ASKO used to be a brand which was known for the durability of their appliances. However the latest ASKO branded products are poor quality.

What most people don't know is ASKO was purchased by the Gorenje in 2010:

Most people may not know about the Gorenje name. They tried to establish themselves in Australia a few decades ago with the "Pacific by Gorenje" brand and failed miserably.

In 2013 Gorenje transferred production of all ASKO appliances from Sweden to Slovenia:

What is clear is the ASKO brand is suffering under Gorenje. The reviews from the public have been scathing. Look at websites like www.productreviews.com.au and you will see that ASKO is generally rated lower than its competitors yet their products cost much more than most of their competitors.
