It's not like competitors don't have comparable engine sizes. Amarok is a 2 litre, and Triton has a 2.4. Does Hilux also have an entry level 2.4 below the 2.8?

Either way they are catering for these people by still having the 3.2 available. Over time i'm sure these people come around to better performance, economy and vastly improved refinement and at that point the 3.2 might get ditched.

They should have the F150's 3 litre V6 for anyone that wants a bigger engine. But who knows if that will ever happen.

Yes regardless of how much power is squeezed from it, many still prefer capacity. Give the buyers what they want, cubic inches. I do respect Ford for keeping the 3.2.

Yes, 400cc was replaced by a supercharger and a couple more
Cams. Fair trade off I’d say.

Does a 2.0 ecoboost falcon smoke either of them though?

Why was the 2.0eb Falcon a fail? In my opinion it’s because people don’t want tiny engines in large family cars. So why do people want a 2.0 Ranger work ute which can tow 3.5T?

In 30 years you’ll be complaining about voltage

A biturbo is a pretty serious bit of kit.

More torque, more power tuned to a 10 speed box. What's not to like in that!

2.0eb might have been a sales failure but from all reports engineering genius. I believe it failed because people had bad memories of ~60kw starfire Commodores.

An Ecoboost petrol engine in the Raptor should still have been an option.

I think the sleeper in the range might be the 2x4 XLT with the 2.0 10Speed.
If you are never seriously going to go off road, it might be worth a look and is 9k Cheaper.
You have slightly less weight than the 4x4.

Does anyone one know what the weight differences are between the 3.2 6speed v 2.0 10speed?

I average 7.5 l/100km in my 3.2 so who knows. In the new set up it may drop down into the 6's with better performance to boot. Not bad for a vehicle of that size if it does.

I see the US Ranger is offering the 2.3 Ecoboost.
I read there were a few changes to the engine to suit, but I haven't sen any performance figures or reviews.

so if anybody has any please post?

It doesn't go into production in the US until late in the year, so no reviews, and I don't think Ford have released performance figures either.
