You're right, I can hardly wait but I'm going to have to, it's not scheduled for delivery until September.

If it gets out - then it's not expensive. Once ridden the price will be long forgotten as your smile widens with each and every ride

Nice to hear. To be honest I had heard much about the brand or model - but I guess the local stuff - Cannondale Scalpel 29er or S Works Epic 29er wasn't something that caught your eye.
My 29er Scalpel with a mix of XT & XTR was purchased at half the price and is a rocket - wouldn't trade it off for anything other than a S Works and even then it would be hard. That lefty up front just works no matter what you throw at it.

Service agents?

As in local bike shops that sell/service them...no but nothing a LBS or myself can't do for that matter.

That's strange, I've been putting 150ks a week on my Trek for the last 3 years so I'm pretty sure that this thing will only make me want to get out more!

I remember they made a few bikes back in the mid 90's from Beryllium, one frameset was at Interbike show in the US for $32 000 USD back then.
I still have a full collection of Mountain Bike Action magazine starting 1990 - 2016, some amazing stuff was showcased in these mags over the years.

So much MTB tech came from the late 80's space technology after a lot companies found themselves without NASA contracts after the early 90's recession. Funny how more and more MTB tech is showing up in road bikes.

Finally found a picture of it from MBR page. American Bicycle company.
Note..Alex Pong's, magic motorcycle cranks before Cannondale bought the design rights off him.

First ride today, at first felt nothing but they came into their own super stiff and just bullet proof, tubeless gives the confidence to just smash the trails aswell (i was old fashioned and wanted tubes but these wheels and the way they are designed work so well without tubes seeing the spoke design doesnt go through the rim itself so therefore needing no rim tape. Bloody bargain i reckon.

So, bit of an update. Waiting until September was a deal breaker for me given that a mate has had his YT delivery date pushed back three times already. So I got a full refund and placed an order for my long time favourite bike, an Intense Carbine Pro Build. It was more expensive than the YT but it's an awesome bike.

Hats off to Andy from Intense Bikes Australia, probably the the best communication and service I've ever received ever. Enquiry was made on a Monday, paid for it on Tuesday, Andy did a full pre delivery and set the whole bike up to my specs and got it onto a truck that day and it was at my house on the following Monday.

155 on the front is a little much for the type of riding I am doing - but if I was doing more of jumps and drops it's a great choice

The 155 is awesome for here with all the rocks and snot, the initial travel is very supple and provides great small bump compliance. If I was somewhere where the trails were smooth flowy downhils I would have opted for a Primer or a Recluse.

Man thats a nice bike, pity about the YT though.

Not long till i head to Canada to ride for 2 weeks, pretty bloody excited. A trail called top of the world has been included if we want to ride it. Totally going to give it a crack thats for sure.

That sounds like a blast. Few years back my son and I did NZ. We were at a place in Rotorua riding specific trails all marked with a rating . We had heard so much about the park and we were a little taken back that the trails were that narely. We stopped for a chat and met a group . All on downhill specific bikes and I was surprised as we hadn't come across any downhill runs. They invited for us to join them . We did. Us on XC bikes - 100mm and the group on bikes with travel close to 200mm. I will never forget following the group through this trail - railing the trail and then breaking through this canopy and watching the riders in front of me jump off this northshore bridge about 6m long and no wider than a 1m and it was about 5m off the end back to the ground. I stopped on the wooden bridge and had to walk the bike back to terra firma. The group below telling encouragement to make the jump. No way . Found the alternative route down and we re joined the group. At each section with another northshore bridge we were alerted before we entered the jump from hell. Top group and both my son and I couldnt stop smiling .

Spent the day at Brights Mystic park yesterday, man that place has some sweet trails. Ordered some new Five Ten shoes and brake pads for my Canada trip.
