Tuning Radio XR8 AUII 2000

Hi, there. Im a new member. I own a 2000 model XR8 ex police chaser. When I bought the vehicle it did not have an owners manual with it. Somehow I have cleared all the radio stations off the stereo and I don't know how to store them. Can anyone help??? By the way, I too, have problems with the rear shockies. I have have had to have the mounts replaced 3-4 times since I bought the vehicle. It is 200k km on it. They only seem to last 50-60k.

Usually to store a station on the OEM radio you scan till you find the station you want then hold the preset button in for 3-5 seconds.. this locks that station into the preset.

There should be buttons numbered 1, 2, 3, 4 etc They are the preset station buttons. Tune to the station you want and press and hold 1. Then tune to the next station, press and hold 2. Continue on untill you're done.

Oh...... (sheepish grin) thanks. I feel like a ******** now. (I'm female and blonde. Thats my excuse anyway!) Hey, maybe you can help with another question?? My cd player wont play cd's anymore - the mechanic at the Ford dealership says its because the laser is no longer picking up the tracks and I should just have another stereo put in as there is nothing they can do. What do you think?

buy a cheap cd laser cleaning kit from any decent music place, follow the instructions and if the mechanics are right it should work. chances are though they are wrong, as they are mechanics, not car audio specialists
