Agree with the Model T, the mini and the 240Z. Maybe the XR GT started the 4 door muscle car thing. The FX was definately ground breaking for its time in this country.

I reckon that's pretty close to accurate. The Rangie started something big and was nearly 20 years ahead of the likes of Nissan and Toyota in that particular niche.
The Willys was a big one. Though I suppose not really as much a car that 'shaped our automotive landscape' as they put it, here in Aus. But that's tough to classify. For us, definately cars like the XR GT and obviously the FX. |

XR GT was the first Aussie muscle car but not the first local V8. It might have been the first 4 door muscle car in the world? Not to sure. I know at the mine, the USA was focusing on 2 door bodies. And nothing interesting was coming out of europe, in terms of muscle cars.
I was just thinking, which car sparked the rice wars? Was it the Civic?
