Default Recommendations for 4WD tyres for wet roads.

I need to put new tyres on my '14 Hilux soon. Currently have Cooper AT3's and they are absolutely lethal on wet roads.
Any recommendations for something similar to the AT3's that are a bit better in the wet?
Are Mickey Thompsons or another make any better?

Have two sets of wheels - HTs that you use for your daily duties, then another set of wheels with some more aggressive ATs or muddies you use when 4x4ing then just swap them over when you want to go out and do 4x4 stuff.

I fitted a set of Goodride SL369 to my 100 Series as 285 75 17 or around 33”.
Was hesitant to go them (Chinese ****) instead opting for the Kumho AT51 at nearly 50% more but a search on the kumhos pulled up a few forums which all said they are terrible in the wet.
Haven’t had any dramas with the Goodrides in the wet including patches of tar bleed and I drive it pretty hard. Will probably go with them again when the time comes.

Coopers are a high mileage hard compound that's why they're no good in the wet you need an in between compound I've got Monsta Terrain Grippers on my ute pretty good all round grip for a middle priced Tyre I'm probably going to get around 55-60K

I bought them in NZ as an Australian Tyre but I think they're made in Indonesia? It's always raining over here and our rds are trash , I've never had them feel like they're letting go ....just Google them I think they're quite a nice looking Tyre with the white lettering

I'm seriously considering Falken Wildpeak A/T's for my Colorado which is due for new tyres before our next holiday trip. They seem to have good reviews. https://www.falken.com.au/product/wildpeak-at3w/

I have had 2 sets of Toyo AT2, very good all terrain tyre. Comparable tread pattern to the Cooper AT3. Fantastic in gravel and wet tarmac, not too aggressive so pretty low noise and great wear. First set on my Pajero were sold on the car at ~45,000km still great in the wet. Second set were on my Ranger and did ~76,000km in 2.5 years (5 tyre rotation), still had 5-7mm tread.

Only upgraded to Maxxis Razr 811 for a more aggressive tread pattern and they too are good in the wet but haven't reached the 40,000km mark yet. This seems to be where my previous tyres (other than toyo) seemed to get a bit sketchy in the wet.

Falken AT3W have a fantastic reputation, I would have gotten them instead of the Maxxis but no stock at the time.

This recent test might help in your decision.
It looks like the Falken is a good choice at the moment.

Goodride, Falken and Nankang are all good options for better wet weather grip. Cooper are are definitely harder for long life.

I fitted a set of Michelin LTX Trails to my Ranger, replacing some lethal Chinese tat the dealer fitted to my genuine Ford 18” accessory rims from new. Highly rate them for grip on dry or wet asphalt for commuting duties, and decent bite in gravel & mud. One down side is they’re a tad noisy.

Cooper owns Mickey Thompson and make typical American tyres, hard rubber for high mileage. I've had two sets of coopers, went rock hard and pretty much refused to wear out, terrible grip and overall low quality tyre. Falkens get a good wrap, as does Maxxis. For me I went with Japanese made Yokohama Geolandars.

We replaced the terrible Coopers on a Prado with Maxxis, superb grip in the wet and still lasted a long time. plus half the price.

winning.
