Who's going ?

I'm hoping to make an appearance and finally get my car run since the change in cam.

Well I'm back. I think I should have stayed home.

What a disappointment.

First run - 17.21 @ 91.31mph (considering my best before the cam was a 14.68 @ xx ? ). I just want to slit my wrists....my old Hyundai Excel would have whipped me.

Launched, bogged down, picked up, big clunk noise and took off again....

Second run - 17.97 @ 89.39mph WTF ! Used less revs when taking off, got off ok and then the car popped out of first gear....christ....

That was enough for me. After one ****weak run and having to wait 15-20mins for the next crappy one, I called it a night. I think I'll wait for another private track day before I attempt this again.

Didnt see you there, kept an eye out. Damn thats no good, but the mph is ok. Wouldnt have been the slowest of the night, a prelude with 'turbo' stickers was running consistent 19's. What a weapon. One guy got a 43 sec pass but he broke his box i think.
Sounds like youre having some trouble, hope it gets sorted.

you recently changed your cam?
Big Cams are not a good thing for the i6, they loose to much low down torque.
i bet your car feels very strong around 3500 rpm and up..
best thing about racing theres always another day..

Thanks mate, gotta love those mexcian coaches, was very dewy tonight alot of cars as well. i had ls1's all around me all night doing 13.0's and was the only boss there, there would have been 15odd LSI's and one BOSS what is going on there?. Best of the night for me was a 13.671@100mph 60' 2.105 getting better but still more practice needed, overall was a fun night for me.
I've been bitten bad by the bug, yeeha bring it on.

Was a good clean run to mate, thought it was you. There were 3 Boss powered cars there tonight, must of missed a few when buzzing down the strip so quick. None were as quick as your tho.

Went to go look for you but lost all thought when i seen that blonde in the miniskirt walk through, was that cold out there the drool started to freeze by the time it got to my chin. Turns out she was with a bloke i know his shitbox Vl boost went 12.3 on it's virgin run on retreads, so i talked to him most of the night.

What happened to that yellow monaro? Got into the burnout, then just lunched itself on the line. Fair bit of mechanical failings tonight

Sorry to hear you had such a bad debut run with the dev5 loxxr6.

I was hoping to see you improve on the 14.6 and give the XR6T's abit of a run.

Sounds to me like you bust a gearbox mount in the first run launch.

Does the gearstick move more than it used to now under acceleration and decelleration?

Nah the car runs perfect with no discernable problems at all.

It sounds bad but I'll wait a week or so and then I'll get it professionally looked at. I've just paid rego today so $ is non existant....

What would a gearbox mount cost ???

I was going to but I forgot about rego so that's stuffed my plans to head out with them.

I so wanna go out and give it another go.

On both my runs, one at 2000-2500rpm dump and the other at about 1000rpm or so I just spun. I wonder if its the stupid tyres I put on? I have Firehawk something or others until I can afford some better wheels and tyres.

Maybe I need to use less revs again ? Thing is, on the street I can get away with harder launches and pull up fine....

The track sure as hell seemed grippier than last time I went (it was also 20deg or so cooler).

The laugh is I have a time slip of Loxxr6 racing me at WSID with a 2.104 for the 60'.

Can the new tyres be that bad?

When I get home I'll scan and post the shocker slips.

The last one had an awesome reaction time of 0.057 or something very close. The 60' I had on my worst run was something like 2.6xx last night.

It was horrific.

Either that or my launch sucked or that the track was extremely grippy. I know I didn't choke (it was my first ever street meet), its just that I couldn't get off the line right.

I'll save up and I think I'll get involved with v8owners for their next hired track day.
