Weekly Race 4 Real Report: September 14, 2016Wednesday night Race 4 Real off-street meets continue to be one of the most popular events on the Sydney Dragway calendar and it’s quite easy to see why!
Top Holden of the Week  This VK Holden Commodore looked incredibly clean and ran some fast times to match with a best run of 12.66 @ 107.72 MPH. Not to mention, it sounded off its chops! Top Japanese of the Week  Don’t let the plates ’10SGTR’ fool you, this Midnight Purple R33 Skyline GT-R is capable of even faster times, breaking into the 9’s with a best run of 9.88 @ 141.36 MPH. That’s crazy even by GT-R standards! Top Rotary of the Week  There’s no denying that the Mazda RX3 is a favourite here at Race 4 Real and it’s easy to see why. This black beauty ran an impressive best time of 11.56 @ 123.94 MPH, all whilst looking stunning and sounding awesome. Top European of the Week  Props to the owner of this mint Volvo 240 for bringing it along and piloting it down the quarter mile to a very respectable time of 15.62 @ 88.18 MPH. There’s surely something special under that bonnet despite that standard exterior. Always great to see classics like this coming down to Race 4 Real! Top Ford of the Week  A Falcon XR6 Turbo is a great choice for anyone with a love for speed, with a tonne of potential that’s easily untapped from its boosted Barra ‘6’ powerplant. Take this Phantom Purple example for instance, running a best time of 13.65 @ 114.37 MPH – and that’s barely scratching the surface. Commentator’s Pick of the Week  With a very impressive best run of 11.98 @ 115.22 MPH, there’s no doubt in anyone’s mind that this mental Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT can back up its ‘SRTGOD” plates. Race 4 Real is on every Wednesday night at Sydney Dragway, weather permitting. Keep it safe, legal and off the streets! Gates open at 4:30PM and racing starts at 6:00PM.
