Didn't they go fgx xr8 base car 4.86secs and 12.89? (That test against the vf lsa). A tune only xr8 should run a flat 12 all day.

This does seem a little disappointing with that rubber on the rear and again shows point of diminishing returns.

JC in his Miami tune only got 11.793 odd over quarter. That was on a drag strip and tyres I think were tailored semis for strip but nevertheless- shows what a tune only Mimai is capable of in straight line performance.

But I think this Premcar is not about being a dragcar but a total engineered package?

I'd assume the test car is a manual? Bloody hard to run a good time with a stick and a heap of power.

i think the premcar tests simply point out the miami stock fuel system can go 400rwkw. If all there testing is true, they kept the stock fuel system and declared it oem good enough to support the 483kw power. So the tune only cars (herrod kpm etc ) have the fuel system to support.

Surely 483kw is 400rwkw+

semi slicks or drag radials don't count.

I’ve run 11.9 on street tyres with tune only. premcar modified cars are not running good numbers if they can’t get under 12.

Premcar said they kept the torque restriction on the early gears to protect the driveline. Maybe the aftermarket tunes get rid of this and achieve much better acceleration?

For years Fpv and Ford have had tyres that where chosen by accountants. Now that we have Michelin cup 2 tyres, there are no excuses for poor acceleration times period.

This all looks great ...I guess you have to believe that the premium price over typical aftermarket parts is magical because it's Premcar ? In listening to these descriptions that make these parts special ......2 stage intercooling , wouldn't all aftermarket intercooler act the same ? ....unlike the competition option they display

Just not convincing IMO

At the $$$$$$$$$$$$ price they would sell em for , you’d really need to justify that extra 20mm of rubber. A good 275 tyre ( MPSS or PS4 ) will be more than adequate for 95% of applications that these cars will see.

Its all a matter choice like everything and thankfully there is options.
One is I would consider in the "better" basket and the other in the "best"........
Those opting for the best don't consider what is adequate, they just prefer having the best no matter the cost whereas others opt better mostly due to budget I guess.
