They're actually not that slow, my best lap around there was 64.8 in the XR.

Anything under 68's around Baskerville is a reasonably quick street car.

Does look like fun, Ive got an old EF 5 speed that would looov to be flogged around there, just not so sure the head gasket will survive a few minutes of sustained thrash.

Sounds top!! Just hopefully they don't raise the $1k limit after a few years, as happens with most 'cheap' forms of motorsport eventually...

hey, thats us.. Dunno how I missed that thread!

Its heaps of fun and we are heading out this Saturday if anyones keen for a look. Its not really organised as such, just a bunch of guys out on a private practice day doing laps and timing ourselves. most of the fun is searching for bits and trying make stuff fast for little or no money.

We now have some advans for the ford, so we are hoping to get the times down a few seconds again.

*on a further note, we will be keeping the 1k limit, dont worry. In fact no car yet has even come close to it, apart from an RX-7 that only lasted 6 laps :
The main problem is what to spend extra money on, bits that make cars faster cost not so much, but bits to ensure they keep running and dont break are not so cheap.

I went to the auction today to try and pick up a car but anything slightly decent went for way too much. I'm not being too picky. mates are going to keep a look out. Me and my mate Kim are mad keen. we went out a few weeks ago to check it out. I heard about the 'trailer trouble'

yeah.. pics of Trailer incident are now up Trailer incident pics

as are some pics from our most recent practice session Practice session .

Was a decent day, almost had the track to ourselves, except for one of the local Aussie cars which died 10 min after we arrived, and a series 4 RX-7 which i think we scared as it was lapping way slower than us and we had some sliding issues getting used to the new advan tyres which probably didnt help.

Also if anyone wants to be added to the 1k mailing list for participation or just for fun, drop me a PM and ill add ya
