Default Fan Noise ?

After picking up the car and driving for about 20kms, came home put it in the garage and one of the thermo fans kicked in after the car was turned off.

Is this normal on these cars ? This went on for about 5 mins till the garage door was opened and then the fan stopped ?

Not something stupid like having no airflow to the front of the car or anything ?

Chris

It's normal. Im not too sure why it does it but it is good for tricking people into thinking you have a turbo.

They will keep the thermo fan running after the car turns off if you keep it still or drive slowly for some time. If i reverse into the garage quickly the fan would keep running but most of the time it does.

the fan is running when the car is turned off? i would only have a guess to say that it is helping it cool down quicker...for what reason is another question.

i used to have that problem when driving around normaly.
but after i changed my intake to dual stage (including CAI) removing a whole bunch of crap from inside the airbox and heat insulating the airbox the fan turns on about 70% less now than it used to.
i guess if anything its helped the engine run a little cooler?

i have that same thing with the fan... i think its kind of cool... if a little too loud. I think its just trying to cool down the engine... and all its plastic bits.

I enquired about the same problem when I took mine in for her first service, I was told that it's nothing wrong just the cars way of cooling down quicker. You'll probably notice it more when you are stop, starting on small trips or stall her.
