AWESOME! Trust me, its sooooooooo much better then the stocky! And its not that hard to put it on as well.... just make sure its tight so it doesnt move. Cause the normal one is a screw on, whereas the Sports Leather knob uses screws to put it into place

I did actually think of Getting the Redback spider one lol but nah, They rang me today at quarter to 4 to tell me that the Knob was in.

Pretty easy to fit, a little bit difficult to shoehorn the bottom metal trumpety adaptor thing into the rubber gear boot (Teki and redstar and those else who have fitted the optional ford leather knob, you'll know what I mean). And im not a fan of the grub screw fitment either, as I beleive they tend to rattle themselves loose after a while....

Stitched leather looks great feels great is great! im just coating the bottom surround in silver paint now so I'll post up pics asap!

YES! SO agree with you there Dan.... the bottom of the knob was a pain in the backside to get into the rubber gear boot section! and yes, the screw part does look like it might rattle loose...... but so far mine has been on the car since new and its fine

Yeah soon Santz. I looked at a momo gear knob before i got this one but you'll soon see that the optional Fiesta one is chunky, perforated sticthed leather having, and looks just as good as any momo knob you'd throw at it.

(It actually reminds me of the momo gearknob Mum had on her old HSV Clubbie)

Well I chucked the freshly painted surround in the oven for a while at about 45 degrees and there ya have it, Surround is now silver (Which I might change to the factory one as im not happy with the finish close up). and the new leather wrapped gear knob is on

Makes the interior look so much more classy I reckon. Bit more WOW factor when people get in expecting an Econo box interior.

What ya think?

Glad to hear you got the gear knob! Aint it awesome! I really think it looks better than any Momo one. Nice size and LEATHER!!!! Feels great! How good! I don't know how hard it was to install as I got my Fiesta with it installed from the dealership.
I like the idea of painting the surround. Saves a bit of effort buying the new one. Just so you know the one on the ST ect doesn't have the silver going all the way to the bottom of the surround. It is only on the 45 degree angle side and just a small lip on the top. The vertical outside edge is black.
But that is if you want to be accurate. (see pic) Looks good the way you have done it!
If I can get my brother's digital camera I'll take a snap of mine with the Ghia (ST/Zetec S) silver surround.
Cheers

Jason

Hi Danny
Total price was $47.95 from my Dealership (included delivery from Melb).
Part Number: 2S61 A17314AASMB1
It does look pretty sweet, and is very nicely made.
And you know how easy it is to install now.
I know what you mean about being pedantic. I have kept mine 100% original Ford parts from the start and plan to all the way (also keeping every receipt from parts ect). I would go the genuine part if you are not 100% happy with the silver paint. But up to you.
Cheers

Jason

I dont know man, You could be. Also I havent seen what the auto tranny looks like in order to make a descision on where to paint it silver.

BTW how much was the Handbrake lever? I'm slowly getting everything in aluminium to match so obviously the handbrake is the next thing...

Danny Im jealous, that interior is immaculate. The poor old Focus has been copping it from all angles lately (much to my disgust), and the fact that its raining for about a week now doesnt help. I need to spend a day just giving the interior some serious Meguiars TLC!

Actually, what does everybody use to clean their floormats? I vaccum and then Scotchguard but I think something stronger might be better than the Scotchguard, but I obviously dont want to permanently mark them.

I intend on getting the silver/leather handbrake lever and scuff plates for the Focus, and as much as I HATE them, I think some seatcovers may be a neccesary item.

Incorrect, I have had the pleasure of taking Lotsy's Fiesta for a spirited drive and I can confirm it is definitely not an auto.

And the gearknob looks great Danny, good work!

I'm not really a fan of the optional gear knob for the fiesta. The new focus sports gear knob is very similar to the fiesta ST one. The UK specs say it fits the same gearbox as the fiesta. So today I went to see if I could get one from my local dealer but Ford hasnt even taken the shippment yet.

Thats a nice gear knob Oxyg3n, but somehow i dont think it would suit the interior being a differenet shade of aluminium, and thats what i was after with mine, something that gels with the rest of the interior.
