Default what you dont hear

Im sure plenty of us have had a listen to our engine for that squeak, squeal, hiss or scrape sounds from our engines from above the bonnet, today though i had the opportunity to be under the car while it was running.

I heard the oil slopping around inside the sump and being drawn by the oil pump, the coolant running through the bottom radiator hose and an entirely different engine sound. Was rather unique and gave me a different perspective on what is actually happening inside the engine from below, instead of ontop.

Anyone else done the same?

Yep, I've ran mine on a hoist many times to try and track down exhaust leaks.

In the end I just give up and test the speed limiter.

I think I would be very very scared if I had the chance to check the noises under my car
