I really can't decide...

I currently have 18x8 Speedy Cheetahs (came with the Car) and want to go to a nice 5 spoke wheel and am thinking of either of these, the silver would go nice as would the black..

As I am 'old', ......black looks much like late 1960s 'rally prepped' hubcap-less black steel wheels.
Silver is timeless, and accentuates the design.

Depends on how interested you are on reaching in and washing the rim every time you wash the wheels, silver 5 spoke rims look great when they're clean, when black ones are dirty, they're still black,, regardless of your decision, you need to get those current ones off as quickly as possible for they are uuuuuuugggly!!!!!

Hmmm there not bad what your suggesting but I don't know if I'm a fan, your current ones while there alright, they would suit a jap car probably better.

What about lenso rims, I don't know the name exactly but I wreckon these look so tough on some, especially on slammed xrs with the deep dish rears.

Or maybe something like fr simmons, I'm a fan of them, yes there everywhere. Gold silver black all look good respectively, even shadow grey.

3rd choice would be either dark or silver agents, they look mad regardless.

What is the name and make of the wheels you are looking at?
Do they offer a wider rim or different offset to fill out the guards more than the wheels you have on now as in a staggered look?

Go with the silver....

The two disadvantages of black wheels are:

1. You don't get the visual separation between the rim and your nice low profile black tyres... They just blend into one round black blob, giving the illusion the car is higher off the ground.

2. No matter how careful you are.... Sooner or later you will get gutter rash.
The damage will stand out much more with the underlying raw silver metal showing through the scratched black requiring a respray.

I have an older XR8, a 01 series ll AU. I have never seen a aftermarket rim better than the factory options. The 1982 ESP snowflake, the 2001 AUII Speedline 18'' 7 spoke and the current FG Honeycomb alloy. IMO, all of these suit their respective models far more. I have a NOS set of the Speedline 18's on my AU and most of the compliments I get about the car involve something to do with the wheels. No gutter rash as only I drive it and its one of the things I really hate seeing on any car as it can be easily avoided.

If I EVER guttered my wheels I would buy a new replacement rim or have it repaired if possible immediately. I cannot stand the condition of most peoples wheels, they look so terrible all rashed and scratched up. A pet hate of mine, and I have never bought a car that had damaged rims, instant no from me. 21 years driving and not one guttered wheel yet, fingers crossed!

Ferrada wheels mate and yes I'd be going 20x9 on the front and 20x10.5 in the rear.

You will probably need to get the speedo recalibrated if you are going 20 inch.

Well right now I'm running 245/40R18 and plan to go staggered 245/35R20 front and 275/30R20 rear.

I know how to check it just can't be bothered being on a phone lol so you can + I work at tyrepower 🤣

Why would you use a 35% profile on the front and 30% on the rear?

Why not use the recommended 30% profile all round?

Pretty sure your width's are correct with a 35" profile front and 30" profile rear, not 30" all round.

This is the combo I've run with 20's on all my cars for years.

I've been looking for some nice deep dish rims but just can't seem to find any, have you got any suggestions?

Personally I would go FR1 simmons in white with polished lip. Possibly silver or gold too. I threw a set of gold on my Mandarin BA and they transformed the car.
