Default our FG XR6t gets a turbo upgrade

well the time came to put a real turbo on the FG to see what it would do, we had a nice T04z made up with a T3 flanged exhaust housing,.

the car usually runs up around 325rwkw on 21psi with the stock FG turbo.

so we ripped off the stock turbo and fitted the new T04z with a turbosmart external wastegate and made up a new intake pipe and 3.5in dump pipe, the results are a stock looking 380rwkw on 16psi boost

with a fuel system and a new clutch a nice 400rwkw will do

ill get some pics and dyno sheet up tomorrow

stock actuator,

i dont know why you would go back to a smaller turbo tho, they take a lot more boost to make the same power...

Im over peak power Dale and want to have more power/torque sooner,320ish is enough for my 150,000km bottom end tbh.I was pushing it at @350.

problem is your going to need 20+ psi to make 320 with the small turbo and it will be a time bomb...
