Default NA 250 cortina calder tonight

Well i finially took my car to calder, running my mild 250 no nitros no turbo running 205/65/15 dunlop 300a's in it... first run was 13.064, with full exhaust, 2nd run was 12.944@104 with a 1.953 60ft.

It was running hot so parked it for a while, decided to take the exhaust of, went out an done 2 12.7's @ 107mphbut the good old calder printer died on those to runs. The last run of the night i hurt it half track (bent push rod, or rocker snaped of) went 12.801@ at un known mph as the dicks tore the sheet of to short...
Well heres a pik of the 12.8 one.. (left lane car 130)

Strange how 6's have low mph and low et's compared to other engines..Must get off the line nice. Low end torque for sure...Well done.. A V8 would have do atleast 110 mph....

Thanks guys it was my first time out in the car.. I pulled the rocker cover of and both inlet and Exhaust push rods on no one are bent totaly, The lifters had come out of the lifter bore this explans the low oil pressure..

The engine is pretty basic, Car weight is 1280 with driver, running a tce 4000 stall with c4/c9, full manual. 3.7 open wheeler (hooks 2 really good). 205/65 15's tires

Pacmaker extractors, wade flat tappet solid, 260@0.050, 560 lift, 11.5 comp, clevo 2v valves, 200 rods, yella tera rockers. (springs to suuit cam) inject ecu, 400 cc injectors, custom efi intake, set up for 2 throtle bodys runing only one at the moment... rev limit of 6200 used.

I carnt wait to get back to the track with slicks and mabie 3.9's ... id love a 12.5 or lower... I gues it all starts here

Thumbs up Efi I6

You say 6200rpm rev limit, to what revs does your engine spin up to? Also, do you know what power the engine is producing? Yeh Wade, like the look of the EFI setup on the old crossflow I6's.

Wow, that is very impressive. Are you running one of the alloy series heads or the iron 2V?

Thats more cam than I thought could probably get away with on a 250, but the compression and long rods must help that(?) What sort of RPM are you shifting at?

Go the Cortina!!!!!

I kinda built it with the pushrods to be the weak link in the motor. Id rather chuck a new push rod or 12 in every few mounths than break rocker posts of, or damage valves. gonna chuck in a full set of 12 push rods and up the spring pressure a bit with some shims under the springs. With new rocker pedistal bolts 2.. THat should keep it happy for a few more mounths :>...

Seriously thinking about going to heathcote next weekend.... just gota see how broke i am :>

man id love to be able to tell you what spring pressures its running... but its kinda been hit and miss.. first we just had outers, than inners, now one shim... Hope fully its just enuf to keep vlave float at bay, but not to much to snap of my rocker bolts.. bit of a balance really

mate what sport of rocker coaver are you running if your using the alloy (efi) version then your rocker adjusters may be hitting the rocker cover hence the bent push rod it happened to me once i just got a 10mm alloy spacer made up to get more clearence.
