Australian 1/4 mile Coyote record should be getting reset later in the year and I have a funny feeling that it will be done by a blown car..
any details on the car?

I thought I'd post a pretty cool video showing the ZF shifting the 2-3 at "around 1200hp" on the dyno!

Yes they are precision turbos if anyone was wondering

Daniel
Sounds tuff mate, could you imagine trying to do that on a chassis dyno at your power level!

PSI MIAMI is having some beefier rods fitted as a precaution (read: take it up a notch ), I've also bit the bullet and done something I told myself I wouldn't do so soon and thrown some cams in there while its apart... It's quite a big job getting this engine in and out as you can probably imagine and I was always going to give them a try at some point so I though I'd kill two birds with one stone.

Hope to have it on the dyno before the weekend and maybe try to get to PC if everything lines up timeframe wise, it's a tall order but I like this working under pressure thing it seems

Daniel
Hi Dan,

It's been awhile since I've visited here. Good to see your kit has progressed. Excellent work.

What cams did you end up installing???

I went with some custom Comp grinds, lost a bit below 5000 but with so much down there anyway the amount gained up top was worthwhile

Not really mate the engine development is all done, she has had 40psi boost in it from 5000 to just under 7000rpm and it drops to 37 beyond that so even with a wastegate spring change we cannot hold any more boost up around 7200 so id say the turbine housings look to be tapped out. I am still trying to get around an rpm limit type issue that has plagued the car for around 12 months so i'm onto some ex-Prodrive people to see if its something that changed with GT-F and FGX and/or if its something I do not have access to with the software currently.

The transmission testing has gone very well while with the torque converter we settled on a different internal free wheel device than what we started out with (Sprag made way for a Mechanical Diode) as the Sprag gave up a couple months back during some track torture, so the new design should be ready to test soon.

My focus has been on a couple of customers cars with two blown coyotes on at the moment and a blown GT500 engine as well, we also welcomed a new addition to the family recently so its been all hands on deck at home!

Daniel

For those wondering what 37psi at 7200 looks like, this is on a mild ignition curve and very rich at .72 lambda (10.50 afr in gasoline equivalent)

Love that Video Mate!! She is a true weapon in every way and in the tradition of Terminator and Aluminator a Weapon in disguise.
from the outside just like mine it looks like a XR8 that's been lowered onto some rims and got a exhaust - Most don't look at the big brakes until they have a reason to look properly.....little do they know that particularly in your BEAST it is an all out Race / Street Outlaw that can and will destroy pretty much anything out there in diguise!!
As much as the FG is always going to be my favorite shape, Your FGX has really shown me that they can be made to look bloody awesome with the right wheels and stance and you have really accomplished the ultimate - as always mate .
I think it's fair to say you have more than achieved proof of concept and some!!
Are you still running the twin Precision 6466's?? or have you changed to bigger.

Still the 6466's, id be pretty confident to say at this point that the .82 turbine housings are the limits, which if you consider the car is making 1600-ish at the flywheel then 800 per turbo isnt too bad at all.

PTE do make a 1.06 stainless housing for these turbos but unless I can turn the additional rpm id be inclined to leave this combo as it is and use bigger turbos elsewhere where I can turn 8000-8500 and 40psi up top.

Daniel

8000 - 8500 rpm, got an idea there's a voodoo in the wings that could manage that !!

There is another build out there that might accomplish that and some maybe some time in the near future But.... it it won't be with a coyote

Not that I have anything against Coyote's - quite the opposite but I already may have a particularly "Potent" Modular Combo, all I know is watch out when it happens.....it will be very special and a very OZ / NZ Combo - A Street Legal Race Car.

Road legal under my drag Licence and Logbook and minimum 3 Competition events a year so hopefully the car lives up to its new name ALMN8R and does exactly that to the competition and sets some Records in the process at least here in NZ it will definitely be the most trick late model engined Ford Set up!!

BLUESTREAK All the way with the build - I would not consider using anyone else so..... Just in planning but watch this space and The AluminaTTor Build Page....

Enough said.................. ...
