Default "Chevy" commodore 6

Spotted driving thru blue mountains nsw today.

A very shiny black VE commodore.
Rear wing, single exhaust on each side
All the Holdens badges removed both front and back and a big yellow Chevy bow tie on the grill and bootlid.

OK gen3 engine thought I, I see a few holden v8s with chev badge referring to engine.
Then i noticed it was an SV6!!!! WTF?

Noticed it was victorian rego, so maybe it was road test of export model?

Sound like to me its a black VE SV6 that the owner has given a bow tie.

Why do poeple put these chev badges all over cars. The only reason i could see why they do that is for **** factor. There even a Astra getting around my area with Opal badges all over it.

I've never seen the point myself.

Yeah the engine maybe Chev, but the car isn't and on the rego paper, it still says Holden. Even worse, when it's on a V6.

It would be like me, putting a Nissan badge, on my VL, just because it has a Nissan engine.

Ahh he's just embarrassed that he's driving a Holden, gotta disguise it with a different badge.

haha, i had a P - Plater pull up next to me in a vy ute, and started to rev his engine with his GF in the Car, my mate had told me he saw a Bow tie on the front, so i look down and happen to see a bowtie with v6 badges, so i calmly gave him the small d**k sign and drove off, needless to say i looked back and saw he GF giggling.

How much better does the VE look with a Pontiac nose?

Opposite of the Monaro, which looked crap in Pontiac guise, that actually looks good : (did I say that out loud?)

The Astra is an Opel car, made in the Opel factory. People are just giving its original badge back. Nuffing wrong with that. ;)

What where discussing here is people putting Chev badges on Buick powered Holden Commodores... :

It's funny to see australiam driven Commodore with Chev badges. It's like the owner doesn't want to show they have a Holden.

It was probably a Test car for Holden, particularly if it had Vic rego plates on it.

Nonsense.

I cant stand Chevy badges on a commodore, even if it's got a GenIII in it.

It's a GM engine, not a chevy.

Why not badge it as a pontiac? Or a buick? Or a daewoo? Or an Opel? Or a vaxhaul? All of these make just as much sense as putting a chev badge on.

Hey, i'll go and throw a Jaguar badge on the EF, just for laughs.

Cos the car is sold overseas as a Chevrolet.
Arab states South Africa Brazil and now USA.

THe export program badges and grilles are available over the counter well for VY VZ probably VE too soon.

What's that got to do with anything? It's not a Chevy Lumina, it's a holden commodore.

The Monaro was being sold as a Pontiac GTO in the US... the neanderthals here in Australia were still putting chevy badges on the things.

It's not a chevrolet. Period.
