Default how to disable a 1998 ford festiva immobiliser ???

hi all,

long time viewer, first time poster here.

i have recently bought a 1998 ford festiva manual 1.5 car.
it has come with some kind of immobiliser installed but i have recieved only one electronic button fob .
it has gotten me thinking that if i loose or break it then i am in trouble as i wont be able to start the car.
when i lock the doors it automatically immobilises itself , so my question is how do i disable the immobiliser, i have bought a steering wheen lock instead.

and just a second quick question, the glass in the left wing mirror is cracked so i need to replace that also , is there a site that would sell a stickie on replacement mirror to stick over the cracked one, instead of replacing the whole mirror+casing.

thanks a lot in advance for your help,

kind regards,

Very unfortunately the Festiva's are a little older than most peoples knowledge on here, but I would say the immobiliser is hooked straight into the ecu so it may have to go to Ford for programming, but the easiest would be to buy a new one, try ebay, have it programmed with a new key so you have 2.
