Got up this morning to my fuel filler cap ripped off and the cap hanging.
went and got keys to see how much fuel they had flogged as we had just put a heap in the yesterday, lucky for us they got none or very little. We have the new shape focus. looks like they had ripped the flap off first but the inner plastic door also covers the cap so they broke that, but cause it is hard to fill it must be hard to get it out.

Why steal petrol?? I mean I know it's expensive and all, but what are they gonna do with it? Surely if they had broken down they could kindly ask to have some. I'd give them some...
Did they do any damage to the fuel cover? Because they're bloody hard to get off when the car is locked...

the outer flap pulled off no dammage but the inner flap that the outer painted flap clips to is broken. Will have to ring ford on monday to see if it is more economical to replace it myself or use my insurance company ($300 excess).
Our neighbours got done also. they have BA falcon they got none from them also. Either the filler design is good or the theives are dumb *****.LOL Oh they also left my RA40 Sillycar alone, second thoughts they are dumb *****.

Around my area they knock off fuel to huff it.
Cheap high I guess. Although the kids are getting a little smarter, my friends place got broken into and all they took was an Xbox and some cash, not the computer or tv and hifi gear. They may have just wanted to buy some fuel and play Guitar Hero smacked off their chops.

I think I found out that a lot of new cars have a mesh in the filler tube to stop fuel theives. true/false?

Sounds plausible. Either way it's scum. Hope it doesn't cost too much to repair.
Send the bill to The chinese embassy. They're the ones using it and creating the demand - hence rising prices!

went to ford today to find out the cost of the filler assembly, which basicly is the black plastic parts. trade around $100
beter than my $300 excess but there is about a 2 week wait on it.
