Default 2 Litre DOHC 16Valve Telstar Motor

Hey guys, I've heard that our Telstars had a 2 Litre DOHC 16 Valve Engine.
Mazda Built Engine Known as FE3
I've seen the in half cuts in imported 626, but which model and year did they come in the Telstar... Later TX5?

Any help in source a local engine would be great.

As its to go into my project TX3

Cheers

Regards Chris

Pretty sure the FE3 was J Spec only mate. I dont think the FE3 was ever in a Aus deliverd TX5. The Aus delivered ones have the 12v SOHC F2 engine. In NA form i think the FE3 is good for 6 or 7secs 0-100km/h. WOuld be a gun project for a TX3 if you could make it work. There is a guy with a boosted FE3 which puts down 13.6 1/4 mile. Its in the "Information on mods for TX5" thread.

But do you mean a second hand import or one you could buy from the local dealer with a FE3?
