Wow you're a bit harsh aren't you.
It's not a bad ute, no need to go completely crazy over a missing feature.

Some people on here get a bit overly offended over minor criticisms of a car that they don't own and didn't design or engineer. There is no need to take it personally.

It has puddle lamps though, that's some pretty fancy new technology.

Yes it does look good I have said that many times. In the post that everyone was triggered by I said Raptors stand out from the front, but look pretty much exactly the same as other Rangers from the rear. How dare I suggest a minor modern feature on a $80,000 Thai built vehicle. What was I thinking

While it may appear a relatively straight forward upgrade, changing the rear light assembly, I'm guessing it would still cost a substantial amount of money to develop and implement. Perhaps it is in the works and will be rolled out in future models.

The US taillights look superb when illuminated and hopefully they end up on our Rangers.

Unless it's on rough terrain at speed. Then those taillights will quickly dissapear, while the trailing vehicle has to slow down for the bumps.

The point is that the US Ranger will probably need to run well past 2021 without much change,
maybe Ford gave them some extras to compete against Tacoma and Colorado...

They look close to the F150 lights, so i'd assume it was to bring the looks closer to that.

It doesn't need extras to beat the Colorado and Tacoma. I was shocked how terribly they drove and the interior of the Tacoma looked like it came from a 90's Hilux. It was laughable. And the V6 auto combo in the Colorado must have been calibrated by a blind man. It didn't know what it wanted to do and the shifts were a solid thud. When it was worked hard it hit the rev limiter before it upshifted in drive

I think Rebels may have sold their demo recently, saw it parked in the ARB shop carpark a few doors up this morning.

What i found interesting was then when i enquired about it a few weeks ago they told me their allocation was all spoken for and that the demo had to be kept for 6 months, however, they could let it go if someone wanted it.

It left me thinking, so they had enough orders to fill their allocation but not an extra buyer on the list of a limited supply vehicle to put a name on the demo until now, 5 weeks later, thats if its sold.

Does anyone out there know how to turn off the Daytime Running Lights on the 2019 Australian Ranger ? I see there is a Ford official video on this topic which tells you to go in to the settings section on the menu and select lighting where you will finally see the option of DRL. You then simply tick or un-tick the box. However, for some reason the Australian Ranger doesn't have the DRL option within the lighting menu. I would assume that this option could be added with a quick re-programme of the system. Is it therefore as simple as that and if so, where could I get this done?

Well you know, demos do get sold along with new vehicles,
sounds like they got the price they wanted...........

Maybe the DP wanted it as his drive car but it got sold......

They're fighting an up-hill battle trying to flog it off with that engine. While entirely adequate in a performance sense, it doesn't come near to expectations for what is supposed to be a performance vehicle. We all know that, and so do they. They are now left in a position where they need to convince us otherwise.

It looks like a great vehicle. Maybe one day Ford will admit that they gave it the wrong engine. For me, the ideal choice would be a 2.7tt v6 petrol. Imagine how many people would be interested then! Fuel economy would be acceptable, performance amazing, NVH excellent... it would be the complete package, not the compromised 'performance' vehicle it is now.

Engine responds very well to mods, but auto gearbox can become unsettled trying to cope with the extra torque. Good fuel economy overall: 9-12L/100km city, 8L/100 country.

it wouldn't matter with some people. if it came with a more powerful engine, there would be something else they would find to complain about. that has been the trend on here every time a new ford vehicle is released.

meanwhile, those that actually want one, just go and buy one.

The only engines available for the project were T6 program engines - Inline diesels.
The USA Ranger and its 2.3 EB was a late inclusion after the global PX3 refresh was locked in.

Wrong! I would have NO complaints if this vehicle came with a 2.7tt ecoboost. It would suit the character of the RR much better, since it is designed for performance, not to tow heavy loads. Diesel is great for towing, but petrol has vastly superior performance. Unladen, even the fuel economy would be fine. Maybe Ford didn't have a choice, but it is not the ideal engine for a performance off-road vehicle, no matter how you look at it.

Not necessarily. There are two dual cabs I like and am comfortable driving. The Amarok and the Ranger. The X-Class comes close but it's just uncomfortable. For my use the Amarok V6 ticks every single box I need but it's 8 years old which is a bit of bummer but there's no new model on the horizon so it just might have to do. Buyers in todays market shouldn't have to compromise, we should get what we want when we're spending this sort of coin on a dual cab.
