Detroit’s Big Three automakers plan to temporarily close all U.S. factories as the coronavirus sweeps across the country.
The companies bowed to pressure from union leaders and employees who called for protection from the pandemic that’s spread to more than 212,000 people in nearly every country across the globe. USA's cases per million is almost the same as ours. Has much anything actually changed in Australia?
I've noticed almost zero difference in my day to day life. |

There's a documentary on Netflix called American Factory that I would highly recommend to watch.
It's about how a Chinese company called Fuyao (automotive glass) reopened a GM plant near Dayton Ohio and hired ex GM employees. It was quite interesting for me about the culture clash and the unions. I only mention this because its roots are in the GFC which this pandemic at best will have the same damage but probably a lot worse. Last edited by MITCHAY; 19-03-2020 at 11:27 PM. |

No one starves to death. Worse case scenario, you jump a fence, throw a sheep or two on the back of a ute and invite all your friends over for a nice barbie.  Or keeping it legal, take a fishing rod down to the nearest pier.

Changes I've noticed so far:
Far less traffic in peak hour Discussion everywhere is about Covid 19 So many people are at home or working from home Reduced availability of so many items in supermarkets Many people i speak to are being put off from work one eay or another Fuel price is down, but with falling AUD that may not last Anyone add to the list? |
