This should really be added to my previous comprehensive post, but this is just to notify of recent additions.

Last March I bought a 2000 Peugeot 306 XT sedan with 4 mths rego for $2,100, as a spare car and also a potential missusmobile (when she extracts the proverbial digit & finally gets her licence

). It has a 2l DOHC injected 4 banger with auto, and while worlds away from the Futura, not a bad little unit for what it is.

Today I bought another 306, this one a 1997 5dr manual hatch (for $2K less than the first one....!), as a donor car for hard to get spares.

Henry's finest had its Manchester gas tank OKed for another decade yesterday, and today only failed its pink slip on the rear tyres.

UPDATE:
Rolled the lease over on the BF and finally bought it out in Nov 2010, sold it to my son in Jan 2011 and bought an FG XR6. I originally leased it for 2 years, then bought it out and kept it until a fortnight ago. It was a terrific car, it started life as a demo model with 6 speed ZF, premium sound, reverse sensors, 18" alloys, Seduce paint. I had no reason to get rid of it, but...

Now I'm the proud owner of a stock FG-X XR8 auto in Victory Gold. Build date 4/2015, 28000 k's on the clock, I'll be keeping this for at least 5 years at which time I expect that it will still have less than 80,000km on the clock. In the meantime I'm very much looking forward to occasional road trips along the NSW south coast and across the Snowy's; I intend to make it cry out at opportune times.

A few months back, there was another addition to the Fowl Can fleet - a 1986 Volvo 240 GL wagon. It's the 2.3l 4, not the the quickest thing in the universe (even the Pug would flog it) but it has heaps of haulage room, a towbar, and it does the job while the Futura is in the panel shop getting titivated.
Bought off a mate of my Dad's, for $1k with 3mths rego - how could I possibly go wrong?
