Unhappy Hugh Hefner dies at 91

This is sad news. For us who grew up in the era before the internet, smart phones, pay tv, vcrs etc, his magazine was the main source for males to access pictures of naked women. When I was a boy many a time was spent in newsagents waiting for the staff to drop their guard so one could sneak a copy of Playboy from the front (where the men's magazines were usually held) to the rear of the store so one could take look. I still remember the excitement when the neighbours 'older' son purchased a Playboy magazine and he was only about 16 at the time. A lot of the local the boys spent some time at the cubby house clamouring over this magazine.

Thanks for the memories Hugh.

Yep, I remember finding a copy in the garage as a kid, my dad told me he had it because it had an article on Fraser Island in it and wanted to do a trip there.
I believed him.

To me, Hugh Hefner was the luckiest man who ever lived when you think about it...

He was the only man in living history to have a constant line of beautiful willing women knocking at his door... "Please, please Hugh... Pick me!" (for the next playmate of Playboy magazine).

Women who would do anything to become famous and a shot at the crown to make something of themselves, many with only their youth and beauty as their main asset.

Roman Emperors and nobles who had lots of women where often slaves or with them not by choice.

Sheikhs and their harem wives... Often unwilling, or arranged marriages.

Even cavemen had to drag a women by her hair back to his cave kicking and screaming to get a bit.

Maybe good looking rockstars come close to Hugh's lifestyle with women knocking on the backstage door for one night stands... But nothing like the lines of willing women at Hugh's Mansion for over 50 years!

Even the rich and famous.... How many men in their seventies and eighties could get so many young beautiful women for free

Hugh Hefner... The man who had it all... Wealth, fame, slept with 1000 women or more and ran his business empire working from home in a dressing gown, while partying in pool orgies sucking on his favorite pipe.

I actually find this a bit sad. Not "sad" in a criticism sort of way but sad in that it's a shame if those women thought they had no other value of which to make something of themselves.

I doubt it was for free. Noone would jump on 90 year old flaccid knob for free, especially if (as you say) they're doing it to make something of themselves.

RIP Hugh Hefner.

Id guess he was a very lonely old man.

As a young man I enjoyed perving and wa**ing over these birds, but then realised they were willing to sell themselves for 'fame'??? hell if thats what they had to do glad Ive always been a man
It will be interesting to see what 'stories' come out from some of those plastic bimbos

Yes, the women were degenerates as well. Anyone involved in this type of business pioneered the moral degradation of the entire Western world.

A degenerate? I think not, he saw an opportunity and grabbed it with both hands and became one of the icons of the 20th century.

Then according to your logic Michelangelo must have also been a degenerate releasing this statue upon the world:

Interesting that you take aim at what you consider is a weak point. If you're going to take a shot at him, why not do so directly instead of attempting to just demean the women in his life? Seems like a coward's move ...

If Junkyard-Dog was talking about the pornography industry I would agree with him 100%. However this is just pictures of naked women. Pictures in Playboy's magazines never put women in compromising situations and unlike other publications (e.g. Hustler), Playboy never asked their women to turn their vagina's inside-out just so they can show as much pink as possible.

I know pottery very well, so do many members within AFF. He has been a member here for many years. His posts are sometimes very 'out there' but he gets his point across.

How about you keep to the thread topic instead of offering your opinion on other members?

From your edit, it appears you've considered my suggestion.
