Exclamation Passing of William Clay Ford Sr.

The last living link to company founder Henry Ford. How will he be remembered?

Brad Kesolowski made mention of it in his victory speech this morning at Las Vegas. He said all the Ford drivers & teams wanted to win desperately to honour William Clay.

I'll remember him as the father of the Continental Mk II. I've got one of these old ads framed:

He'll probably be better remembered for his ownership of the Detroit Lions who have the dubious distinctions of not having won a championship since 1957 and having the only winless season (2008) since the move to 16 game seasons.

His years on the Ford board and finance committee have largely gone unnoticed but I'm sure there was a lot that went on behind the closed doors we'll never know about.

Cheers
Russ

There are still 'Fords' in the business

Henry Ford III is in the business, he was born in Melbourne in 1980, he is the son of Edsel (II) and Cynthia Ford, Edsel (II) was out here managing Ford Australia when they introduced the XD, he is a great grandson of Henry Ford (I)

My wife and I went to the same antenatal classes as the Fords when we were expecting our first child, no-one picked up on their names and accents in the class - hell I did as soon as they introduced themselves - LOL
