Default Bargain Supercharger Kit Coming?

Yep!

Soon to be released is a 9 PSI Supercharger kit for AU and earlier models. The basic kit wil include blower, bracket, belt, idlers, intake pipe, discharge pipe and should come to about $3500.

Pics soon apparently. I've been in touch with this mob for a little while now, and I am trying to coax them into site sponsorship but until PM me and I'll give you the relevant details.

Not as this stage, but then neither are the Snort turbo kits, or the majority of other kits on the market.

Yeah, just saying the capa kits might be a bit more to buy, but in the long run would work out cheaper

I think for the V8s the Kenne Bell style charges are probably a better option anyway. Centriful style kits are just easier in the sixes.

Usually the 6's get all the goodies last. Nice to know a blower kit will be available for the 6's.

What is involved for EPA approval and what kind of gains do you think might be expected? Will it sound any different?

Just hoping someone might know a few things.

Yes, Centrifugal like a Powerdyne/Vortech setup.

Dauphin, the gains are always impressive with force induction, check what sort of gains the CAPA kits gets. Now with Flash tuning on our AU we can improve these number more. Intercooling, etc will allow to push further again, all depends on the budget.

Target output for the basic kit is 260-280kW, realy depends on what mods you have now, tuning, etc.

Or not so great if it's a CAPA one - Nudge has a capa one, and he can't pass emmissions tests anyway.

This is good news. Me starts saving for Bucky's car AND $3.5K S/C kit - then the car will go as good as it looks.

Easy done, usually a different sized blower pulley which can be changed in 5 min. If the pulley is made to small then a larger crank pulley will be needed.

^^^ it's almost like mucking around with gears on a mountain bike eh :P

I'd feel sorry for a little powerdyne pumping out more than 10psi though!

True, problem is that some SC's (namely the Powerdynes) are limited to 9psi maximums for mechanical reasons. You can run a Powerdyne with a smaller pully to get more boost.. until the think lunches itself not long after. I'm curious to know if this SC setup is 9psi as standard due to that being the realistic maximum for a stock 4.0.... or if its the realistic/reliable maximum for the SC itself.

Ah ok i assumed they were using a Vortech head unit, my bad. I still have a v-2 vortech & a novi 12oo left over from the last lot i ordered if anyone is intrested, i only having mounting bracket's and crank pulley's for ba xr8 & GT engine's tho so you'd need to make your own up.

If i could get enough intrest up i'd consider buying more & doing the same thing.

What i find really expensive from the capa kits is the aluminium mounting bracket, which they want $995 for. Im sure you could make one up easily if you had the template or take it to someone and it could be done for less than 3-400.

Officially, with the right pulley it can handle 11PSI.
