Have you ordered the black ones or a different colour? Just wondering, now that they have a few sets on order, they have finally realised that they should do domething about the back log of orders.

We've been polishing parts and finding out what is missing then ordering bits like seals. Simple things like the chrome ring around the fuel cap is missing that takes time to order is a real pain. We've removed the windows to get tinted.

Hood lining has been done.

Hopefully the sound proofing underlay will arrive soon and we can fit the rest of the carpets and seats. Door trim material was supplied to Superoo to match the car seats. As close to chamois as we could get.

My 5l VK Wagon wasn't too happy having Ford parts laying all over it. I promised it a rebuilt carby for its patience.

This is the livery I was thinking of doing for the coupe to promote our business out on the road. I hit the wall a bit hard and think a wheel alignment might be in order for the next pit stop.

Heading off to the pits with 3 wheels. These XC Coupes are pretty tough.

Yes, that's the one. We get people sweating from the immersion after running a 30min race. One guy ran out of fuel and missed the pits so his mate actually pushed him into the pits for a re-fuel. We have a lot of fun.

Sorry about that, had a momentry lapse of reason for about a month. Here's some images of the underlay, carpet, seats and tinted windows going in.

We removed the windows and took them into the window tint dudes. Very easy to do and a far better option than taking it in later.

We are waiting on the door trims which are apparently arriving this week so I'm going to stand near the mail box all week and hold my breath until they arrive!

We've got the new seat belts ready to go in so there should be some major progress over the next 2 weeks once everything arrives.

I'm not sure what the rims are. I'll have to have a look next time I'm crawling around.

Here's the holy grail of repro parts. The guys from Superoo actually did better than rocking horse manure and produced these beautiful door trims from the material that I supplied left over from the seats, so they're perfectly matched.

I've always been a fan of black interiors but the chamois goes well with the blue exterior. Here's a trial fit of the seats and trims. We managed to fit the rear seatbelts without too much hassel.

We've been messing around with door trims trying to fit the inner door belts, then trying to find the door trim clips that fit, haven't got the plenim front grill thing clips to hold that in place. I've also discovered we've lost a rear window chrome piece and the windscreen chrome surround was for an XT and not XC. So we're getting there slowly.

I had the plastics painted to match the door trims and they look fantastic.

I've completed the fitting of the rear seats and trims at last. It took me a while to cut out the carpet to fit under the scuff plates. I ended up riveting the carpet to the panel under the scuff plate so that it was held in place and not relying on the flimsy thin scuff plate to do the job.

Here's some images of the inner door wiper rubber thingo's. I ended up riveting them to the door trims. Thought I'd include these in case other people are wondering how they fit on.

The door trims were done through Superoo in Armadale, Perth, Western Australia. $795 for the set, I supplied my door trims and they used the top metal section and made every thing else from new material. Even the clip holes matched up with the doors. www.superoo.com.au

Could I ask where you got the trim from that goes at the bottom of the door card behind the seat belts ?? Or was it with the car when you purchased it ? I'm missing both from my coupe and it looks like Rare Spares don't have them............

Sorry for taking so long to update the restoration page. We've been busy restoring a VK V8 Wagon for our business and haven't had the time or energy to get things moving.

I've started to get the ball rolling again. I've had to figure out how to align the rear window with the front so the seals match up. Seat belts are now in the front. Door locks have been replaced with keyless entry and wires run so that I can fit the front door trims.

Brake master cylinder was faulty so I had to buy a new one ($250 at Superoo in Armadale/Perth for a PBR and not a repro)

To answer buggerlugs question the trim bits were already with the car. If I understand the question correctly this may be the part you are after:

I started it up and took it for a quick blast to test out the brakes and it sounds nasty when the foot is floored. I've never owned a 351 before and it put a big smile on my face to feel and hear the coupe re-live it's youth.

If anyone has some information on how to fit the rear window it would be appreciated otherwise I might have to get someone in who knows what they are doing. Thanks.

Rear windows are a pain. My uncle installs glass in cars for a living. When I did my coupe we tried using a Rare Spares Seal..... 3 Times!!! no luck. Ended up putting the original seal back in. I can say ive seen the process and I would get a pro to do it.

OK Thanks for the advice. The local window fitter told me to fit the rubber seal to the window and leave it for a day or two so that it sets in shape.

as blueKoop say's, try to use the original seal if possible, the repo ones really dont fit too good at all. We had the same experiance as BlueKoop, mine has an original seal in it.
