Wednesday night Race 4 Real off-street meets continue to be one of the most popular events on the Sydney Dragway calendar and it’s quite easy to see why!
Here are some great performances from last week’s Race 4 Real at Sydney Dragway. Top Holden of the Week  The pick from the Lion’s Den this week was this HSV GTO Coupe. This HSV-improved Monaro sounded the goods as the big V8 rip-roared down the quarter in a best of 12.0 @ 116MPH. Top Ford of the Week  In the blue corner this week was a classic Ford Falcon XB. In Barney the Dinosaur purple, the car and driver displayed impeccable consistency, registering five runs at 11.9 @ 111! Top Japanese of the Week  Beautifully presented and fairly period-correct, this Datsun 180B SSS is our Japanese pick of the week eith a best of 14.1 @ 79MPH. Top Rotary of the Week  We love seeing rotary engines in these classic Corollas. This black KE20 registered 7 runs with a best of 13.8 @ 97MPH. Top Euro of the Week  The new MK7 VW Golf R is one of the best hot hatches currently on the market, and with times like 12.6 @ 110MPH, it’s easily one of the quicker standard European cars we’ve seen at Sydney Dragway. Commentators Pick of the Week  Our notable performance of the week comes from this Mitsubishi L300 4X4 van. With a tall figure, air snorkel and off-road tyres, you would not pick this van as a drag racer! Giving a go, this unusual addition to the night went home with a respectable 15.2 @ 90MPH time slip. Race 4 Real is on every Wednesday night at Sydney Dragway, weather permitting. Keep it safe, legal and off the streets! Gates open at 4:30PM and racing starts at 6:00PM.
