Question Ford Fairlane 500 build date query

I am trying to get the year of my Ford Fairlane 500 that has the small [Ford Motor Company of Australia Limited] badge
ID plate has the following
Prefix Serial No Sido No Model
JG37HC 39472 628080 24837

ENG--------Trans --------- --------- Paint --------- Trim
Y -------- R -------------- ---------- E ------------- R

And rego sticker has the CHAS - QPZX757 AND -1969 FORD

Stamped into the top Radiator cross member is JG37HC 39472
2nd question: is the rego sticker wrong?????

Well 24837 is a ZB Fairlane 500 so it'll be a 1968 or 1969.

I'm short on time here at the moment, so I can't find the exact page on here to the decipher the 'C' in your VIN - which would give us a specific build date.

The rest of it just says that it was built in Brisbane and should be a 302 auto in Polar White with Champagne trim (? Though apparently Champagne trim was a ZA item and isn't listed as available with ZB).

Have a search of the classic forum and the tech resources because that information is out there.

Thanks very much I found build date is May 1968 but a little confused You say Brisbane as build factory on model 24837 when JG37HC indicates Broadmeadows the plot thickens

There's a link to the 'Tech Resources' at the top of each page. Filter through there and you'll find a wealth of information.

Hello,

Mistakes were made with plates at times, so if things dont seem right it may be a simple human error.

I have just found the VIN No: CD254930 stamped into the L/H front shock tower and the numbers on the old rego sticker I believe would be the plate number last on the car even though the sticker has it marked as CHAS-QPZX757 and in large print PZX 757.
As above this is the first time this VIN number has come up in my search for info.

Hi, doing some searching my dad who has a Fairlane 500 that we believe is a 59 model produced in Australia. So far we haven’t been able to find the chassis stamp with the VIN, but the I.D. plate seems to be completely wrong numbers. Is anyone able to help?
Serial prefix 1R.11.61 serial number 60466 model number 1212

Thanks!
