yeh ive often been with my mrs and a little ricer may drive past eg supra,200sx, evo etc. and she goes all crazy about them. what she doesnt realise is most of them are nothing special and a big v8 like a gt or clubby is worth way more and are more powerful. she says that the cars i like are just family cars but i say if i wanted a family car id just drive a camary. what do you all think? have yous ever been with girls and they drool over those little imports with no space and tiny engines? in saying that though alot of gals love the gt and so does the mrs but she still calls it a family car. yeh it holds 5 people comfortable and has heaps of boot space but it still offends me if someone called it a family car. its more then a family car. its a performance sedan. what does everyone else think? is it just a cool family car and why do girls love the imports so much? cheers

The missus might say that it looks nice, but Ive taught her to laugh and rice now so its ok.
Although that wasn't the case when I had my first car, I put blue sleeves over the interior lights and whenever I bagged another car she would refer to them. I tried to explain how it was different (my crap on the inside where only I see it) but see didn't buy it..lol On the other hand...Ive been seeing heaps of hot girls in nice skylines etc etc...that I can live with..lol

Well having been on all sides of every fence, (well I haven't had a TRUCK yet I guess!), my S15 200sx inspired MANY MANY more girls I know to ask for rides than any other car I've ever owned.
As far as I'm concerned, it's no theory - it is a cold hard FACT!

OK just to clarify the thread, I was under the assumption that "ricers" meant that the car was destroyed by the owners "individuality". Stock, clean, low and some nice rims skyline/200SX's whatever look very nice.

Yeah alot of girls seem to like the flashy and bling imports. I would rather be with a girl, that likes old cars. Nothing like seeing a hot girl driving a hot old schooler. |

EVO's, 200sx's and supra's own falcons. The falcon is a family car first, performance car second.

Unfortunately your girls right, the "ricers" look better and go harder.
Why? Because they are sports cars, not family cars with nice motors in them. |

My ex had a V8 fairmont ghia, then wrote it off and bought a Skyline.
I gave him endless grief about it. Actually I still do, but we're good friends, so it's all good.

Simple
A girl sees you in a big family car and is scared off because she thinks you are looking to setlle down and start a rugrat breeding program. Whereas seeing you in a two seater plus some luggage sports car says you are still wanting to have fun, not quite ready to start breeding but have plenty of time and are most definitely wanting to practice. Trouble is I'm a sports car driver trapped in a sedan body : Although the best is when you spank a ricer and see his missus laughin at him when he gets frustrated at being beaten by a big heavy 'Falc'.

So what is the actual definition of rice? If it's rice purely because it's Japanese, then I think people are very short sighted. I like all sorts of cars, from Falcons, Commodores to my personaly favorite, the R32 GT-R.

I don’t know but a lot of young people seem to like them.
Eg. I was out on the gold coast a year or 2 back and I was driving my uncles new Caprice, Black, V8 and fully optioned, now I am a Big Ford fan but even know it was a Holden I will admit it was a very nice car. Anyway I had 2 of my younger cousins with me, year 10 and 11 (How ever old that makes em LOL) and we pulled up next to the Ricer club on a cruse, and they were looking at the cars and saying how wicked they were. I was like WTF your in an ********* V8 Caprice this is clearly the best car hear!!! |

Its cos theyre shiny. We all know girls are attracted to pretty shiny expensive things. Eg: Diamonds and gold things.
They also like small "cute" things so I suppose some Jap cars would go into that category. Same as VW Beetles, minis and things like that. But I know a few girls who dont like them. They like old school muscle and new school muscle. Now thats hot lol |

lol at the ricer comments you guys crack me up
i know plenty of 4 bangers that run 13's and 14's N/A and your lucky to find a brand new ford doing that out of the box regardless, then add a turbo to them and your doing 12's and 11's etc dpnt mock the pretty pink ricer mobile as it might just leave you for dead with all that excess bodykit etc they like to add to their rides ;) |
